@GingerGiacomo Thanks, but I've been thru this 3 times now. Traveled across the country to see a Dr willing to Rx, and now he's shut down? No. I'm done w/ Drs & the HC system.

Found out today that the good ol' DEA has shut down my Pain Dr. - the 3rd time I've lost a Dr to #DEAth. Even though I knew this would happen at some point, I'm stunned. Now I can't get ANY pain relief as a #cpp. So I'm officially done w/ the US HC system. 1/

Pain Pts arent the ones dying from OD. Illicit carfentanyl street drugs are the culprit. NOT prescription pain relief Rxd to Pain Pts. They cant stop the street drugs so they target Drs & CPPs. If Rxs are at an alltime low why are OD deaths at an alltime high? #savingustodeath

Opioid prescribing is at an all-time low since the 2016 "CDC Guidelines". Yet the # of OD fatalities rises. The Gov't has snowed The People, & they bought it; hook line & sinker. And still, the Pain Patient's are suffering & dying, but no one cares. (Until it happens to them.)

@sexton_cecilia @lockedoutofvenu My PM said that he doesn't test for MJ. He said the State expects him to enforce consequences if Pt's test Pos & he knows some ppl get relief w/it (not me, unfortunately) so he just stopped testing for it & now he doesn't have to worry abt it. He's truly an awesome man.

@lockedoutofvenu I have Arachnoiditis. My Pain Clinic allows just one UA to be positive for marijuana. I believe it may help me but it's still illegal in Kentucky.

People who use or have used illicit drugs don’t lose their human right to opioid pain relief when they’re in moderate to severe pain.

@PainPtFightBack @liv4the_moment @CMerandi I'm a Nurse (or I was, before CP) & I've been looking for a long time for some kind of registry/log of CPP death's due to medication side-effects, cancellation &/or withholding of Rx's, & pain-induced suicide. I haven't found anything. Do you know of any links that you can share?

@JosephFalzoneMD Ima Nurse/CPP. My fave analogy is that a normal baseline is 0. If a pain-free person takes Opioids theyre elevated to +100: high. A CPPs baseline is -100/-200. If they take Opioids theyre only elevated to 0/-100, making it possible to function in a normal-adjacent manner.

Why do CPPs not get addicted to their opioids? (And that is a known fact to me) My theory is that the presence of chronic pain negates the positive dopamine neural nets. Addiction is intimately involved with the stimulation of the dopamine neural network. CPPs don't have this.

We used to only hear from #cpps for help. Now? Every day it’s post-op patients. Not only are they not given anything to take home, they’re not getting help in post-op recovery in the hospital. They’re told to deal w it. Yesterday, a husband called begging for help for his wife. 1

@MikeMcAulay3 If admitted, asking to speak to the hospitalist about your dose (if given at all). Avoid getting admitted at all costs. The hospitalist will NEVER match your PCP's daily dose. Being a self-advocate will always backfire. Having one of the "fake" disease like ME/CFS, #CRPS, 2/3

When someone says "It's too easy to get prescription opioids" I want to punch them in the face. I'm not a violent person but there are no consequences for being stupid & walkin around spreading such propaganda & falsehoods. It's propaganda that got us here. It's harming patients.

The 'care' in healthcare by MDs has moved away from the patient and is now focused on caring about pleasing administrators and the DEA, while being beholden to insurance companies to authorize medical tests and procedures no less. No wonder they're so apathetic & hostile.
