The regime masterfully stages public relations dramas using #Kagame's grandchildren, projecting an image of a gentle, merciful family man who cares deeply for children. Yet, this carefully manufactured empathy is a stark contrast to the brutal reality on the ground: under his administration, authorities destroy citizens' homes, forcing actual #Rwandan children to sleep outside in the freezing rain with no shelter. Elite institutions linked to the ruling family, like @GHA_rwanda owned by @FirstLadyRwanda , symbolize a Rwanda reserved for the powerful while average citizens cannot afford decent education, jobs or basic opportunities. At the same time, critics, journalists, opposition members and even genocide survivors who question the regime face imprisonment, disappearances, exile or suspicious deaths. Human rights organizations have repeatedly documented repression, arbitrary arrests, intimidation and attacks on free expression under #Kagame’s government.
