@Big_Mck As a programmer here is my guess, 1. Remote activity is the most obvious 2. Usage pattern - They know your bedtime (from when you usually clock out). They know how many minutes of shows you watch per day. So this combine with remote activity they can accurately guess.

This really has me worried: how does Netflix know you are not looking at the screen? There’s nothing you’re telling me, Netflix spies on people’s homes to have the ability to detect your eyes are not focused on the screen of your TV, hence this prompt. And don’t tell me it’s inactivity with the remote cos no matter how long the show stays on, I don’t get this prompt even without touching the remote unless I take my eyes off the screen to focus on my phone. I’m worried because sometimes, I’m in front the TV without clothes on. Is Netflix seeing my nakedness? 🤷🏾‍♂️

@hackSultan I am paying $3 for a year. I doubt that I would still be using for over a year and if it turns out that I still use the app then bravo here is $10 for lifetime. It happened to me I bought icon pack studio for a year and after 2 months I have lost interest in customization.

Quick question, if you’re awake: Would you rather pay $3/year for an app or buy it once for $10?

@mjovanovictech permit me to argue that anything that requires special validation needs should be considered business, for instance if I require user id the validation layer should check if it is a valid Guid then the handler should check if the UUID exists on the users table.

Data Annotations are great for simple things. [Required]? Fine. [MaxLength(50)]? Sure. But what happens when you need to validate something against a database? Or validate based on a configuration setting in appsettings.json? Data Annotations hit a wall. You can't easily inject dependencies into an Attribute. This is where FluentValidation shines. Because your validators are just standard classes registered in the DI container, you can inject anything you need. Want to check if a CouponCode is valid by calling the IPricingService? Just inject it into the OrderValidator constructor. It turns validation from a static check into a dynamic, intelligent logic layer. I explain how to wire this up seamlessly in ASPNET Core here: milanjovanovic.tech/blog/cqrs-vali… It is a game changer for complex business rules. --- Sign up for the .NET Weekly with 75K+ other engineers, and get a free Clean Architecture template: milanjovanovic.tech/templates/clea…

@akinkunmi @eng_toyin @0xJoseph Client generated UUID are a thing, for instance in a client first todo app, I add a to-do with a local UUID, when connection gets restored in sync with my server, there are many more use cases, but I totally agree checking for UUID collision is a waste of time

Another useless thing developers do to feel like their app is more secure is UUID collision check. You're more likely to win the lottery 100 times in a row, survive 100 plane chases, 100 lightning strikes and invent the cure for cancer all within a week than for a UUID collision to happen.

@imohumoren Yes there is a way to do that, it is called arbitrage betting, regardless of the outcome of the match you will still gain a percentage, though winnings are small, some times like 5,9 or 10 percent, so you will need a bigger bank to take advantage of it, need more clarification ?
