@stevesaylor I love mine! I got them as a Christmas present to myself this past year and quickly began using them doing virtual workouts over zoom. Transparency mode is great. Sometimes I just put one in and that works great, as well.

@blindeducator @atguys I got both the slate and the case in a package in my mail today. It is a little thicker than I was expecting, but that’s OK. It is really neat to know that you don’t have to rustle around for paper and a loose stylus. Such a luxury!

So this evening when checking my mail. I received a huge surprise. The case for the Versa Slate that I pre-ordered from @ATGuys was among my mail. Thank you A T Guys for the case.

@dwoodbridge David, you helped me get started with my Mac 9 years ago with the Vision Australia podcasts. Don’t stop! If you love doing it, and we love listening, that’s what matters. If they get tired of hearing about expensive products, they don’t have to listen! Free choice.

Honestly universe, if one more person sigh sends me a note about me talking about expensive stuff that makes them feel bad because they can’t afford it, I’m packing up my Talking Tech show and iSee podcast and just doing my work work. Trying to share info, and my joy of tech.

@dwoodbridge I hope they keep the function keys which is exactly why I am planning on getting this model.

A tip for folks thinking about the M1 Macbook Air or the M1 Macbook Pro, the Air has Escape key, function keys and the power/touch id button, whilst the Pro has Escape, Touch Bar, and the Power/Touch Id button. Still prefer my function keys.

@dwoodbridge This is great to hear! I have a refurbished 2013 MacBook Air and would like to buy the newest version of the air in the next week or so. Great to know all is working well with the new chipset on your Mac mini :-)

Browsing with Safari on the M1 Mac mini under Big Sur beats my poor old MacBook Air from 2013 smile. All going well so far: Youtube, Netflix, etc.

I’m playing with a new app on my iPad mini called Symphony Pro 5. It is a music composing program that is very accessible with voiceover.

I love Social Distancing when shopping, apparently as a blind person if I can’t see someone reaching across in front of me to grab something off a shelf which means they are closer than 1.5m, it is still Social Distancing because I can’t see them: bloody hell sigh smile.

@jcsteh @airaio Wow! I figure if I give my number to someone, I’ve given them permission to text me. We all opt into these things by giving our email and phone number. What’s worse is inheriting someone’s old phone number and getting their male enhancement ads. I am a woman.

Here's the thing, @AiraIO. Emailing or SMS messaging me to tell me about a deal is acceptable customer marketing. Sending an email, an SMS and then *another* SMS a few days later is spam.
