This is the studio that used DEI consultants on KCD2, added a gay romance to a historically grounded medieval game, introduced a Black African court figure into Bohemia, got the game banned in Saudi Arabia, and then restricted what fans could say about it in their own forums. Now they're going into Middle-earth. Embracer Group owns the IP and just formed a new licensing company with Tolkien "at the heart" of it. The Amazon LOTR MMO was canceled this week. Amazon's Rings of Power spent three seasons rewriting Tolkien's lore. Now the studio that rewrote medieval Bohemia is next in line. What do you need to see from this game before you trust it?
