Tech billionaire Mike Lynch is among several people missing after a 183-foot sailing yacht sank off the coast of Sicily early Monday morning. The image below shows the yacht at around 8 p.m. local time on Sunday, just hours before it went down. Of the 22 people on board, 15 were rescued, including a one-year-old child. One man has died, while Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter, Hannah, are among those still unaccounted for. The yacht sank around 4:30 a.m. local time, reportedly due to powerful winds and waterspouts—tornadoes that form over water—that battered the area overnight, according to local media.

🇬🇧 STARMER TO BAN 'LEGAL BUT HARMFUL' CONTENT The Labour government is considering introducing a new range of legislation to curtail 'misinformation' on social media even when it doesn't pass the threshold of 'illegality' in and of itself. The move would extend the powers of a British online safety act which already has a clause that requires social media firms to take down or restrict 'harmful' content. Did you know? A new ocean is forming in Africa along a 35-mile crack that opened up in Ethiopia in 2005. The crack, which has been expanding ever since, is a result of three tectonic plates pulling away from each other. It’s thought that Africa’s new ocean will take at least 5 million to 10 million years to form, but the Afar region’s fortuitous location at the boundaries of the Nubian, Somali and Arabian plates makes it a unique laboratory to study elaborate tectonic processes. There are still some big unknowns, including what is causing the continent to rift apart. Some think that a massive plume of superheated rocks rising from the mantle beneath East Africa could be driving the region’s continental rift. Each plate boundary in the Afar region is spreading at different speeds, but the combined forces of these separating plates is creating what’s known as a mid-ocean ridge system, where eventually a new ocean will form. The three plates are separating at different speeds. The Arabian plate is moving away from Africa at a rate of about 1 inch per year, while the two African plates are separating even slower, between half an inch to 0.2 inches per year. The 19-year-old in blue was talking to the police, possibly arguing with them about bullying. A racist police officer attacked him. His brother came over to talk to the officer and stop him from attacking his brother for no obvious reason. The officer then turned and started punching the brother in the face. The brother, dressed in grey, defended himself against the aggressor. A fight ensued, and it quickly escalated out of control. The police officers lost the fight they had started without reason. They used tasers, causing the young man in blue to fall to the ground with his hands behind his back. His brother in grey sat on a bench, putting his hands on his head. The officer who initiated the incident went over and kicked the 19-year-old in the face and stomped on his head. The entire situation arose because of the unprofessional and racist behavior of the officer. Jail time is needed.
