NEW: 50 empty Waymos invade Atlanta neighborhoods and circle their cul-de-sacs for hours early in the mornings. Residents say they are getting waymo traffic than usual and have tried combating the cars with a neon green sign, which only made the problem worse. The Waymos didn't know what to do and clogged the entire street. "We have small animals and pets, got kids getting on the bus in the morning, and it just doesn’t feel safe to have that traffic," one resident said. The residents say Waymo has not given them a response yet.

In Russia’s Rostov region, schoolchildren are bullying a 12-year-old girl because her father was denazified in Ukraine The latest incident ended in violence: one of the students lay in wait near the classroom entrance and smashed her head against a door frame. The girl fell and lost consciousness. The mother learned about what happened not from teachers, but from her daughter’s friend. According to the family, school staff chose to stay silent. It later emerged that the bullying has been going on for a long time. Classmates mock the girl with phrases like: “At least I still have a father.”

Big upgrades are landing 🚀 We're rolling out a new subnet template built around three pillars: Connectivity. Scalability. Security. This is about making decentralized AI networks actually work at scale. 🔗 Connectivity Random Walk peer discovery Nodes now passively explore the network by querying random keys in the Kademlia DHT. Why this matters: • Continuous peer discovery • Fresh routing tables so nodes always know which peers are reachable and how to find them • No central coordination • Stronger long-term connectivity Connection maintenance Each node actively maintains connections with up to 64 peers, ensuring sufficient overlap and resilience across the subnet. ⚡️ Scalability & Efficiency The old model leaned heavily on DHT records as a global database. That doesn't scale. When every peer queries everything, everyone pays the cost. Enter GossipSub. We've implemented GossipSub, a peer-to-peer pubsub protocol that forms a stable mesh for real-time message propagation. What changes: • Messages are shared once, then gossiped • No constant record fetching • Lower latency • Dramatically reduced load This is how blockchains efficiently broadcast transactions, now applied to subnets. 🔐 Security In addition to proof-of-stake, we've incorporated Noise into the networking stack. Noise establishes encrypted, authenticated peer-to-peer channels with forward secrecy via cryptographic handshakes. Forward secrecy (or Perfect Forward Secrecy) ensures that even if a node's long-term private keys are compromised in the future, past session data remains secure. Secure by default. High performance. No trade-offs. This is the future of AI. P2P. Trustless. Decentralized.

Testnet Hoskinson Update ✅Over 250k blocks processed ✅Over 2,500 epochs We're not stopping! We're updating the subnet template: 🔹 P2P connection maintenance to ensure peers are always connected to at least 1/4 of the maximum number of peers 🔹 Introducing a gossipsub protocol for P2P communication 🔹 Adding random walk functionality to the KAD-DHT 🔹 Adding support for Secp256k1 and ECDSA on top of Ed25519 and RSA 🔹Introducing a noise protocol for secure P2P traffic Adding additional features to the blockchain: 🔹Introducing delegate accounts to nodes for business logic 🔹More events These updates will be pushed and tested in the coming weeks.

California's Central Valley produces 80% of the world's almonds. Each almond requires 3.2 gallons of actual irrigation water to grow. Not rainfall. Actual tap water pumped from aquifers. One gallon of almond milk requires 162 gallons of irrigation water. Compare that to dairy milk at 8 gallons of tap water per gallon, with the rest being rainfall that falls on pasture anyway. But here's where it gets properly grim. Almonds bloom for exactly three weeks in February. During those three weeks, California needs every pollinating bee in North America transported to the Central Valley or the crop fails entirely. Commercial beekeepers truck in 31 billion honeybees. That's two-thirds of America's entire managed bee population, all concentrated in one valley for three weeks. The bees are packed into trucks, driven across the country, dumped into almond groves drenched in pesticides, worked to exhaustion, then packed up and shipped to the next crop. The mortality rate is catastrophic. Beekeepers report losing 30 to 50% of their hives annually. That's billions of bees dead. Not from natural causes. From being used as disposable pollination machines for your almond milk. The pesticides don't help. Almond groves are sprayed with neonicotinoids which scramble bee navigation systems, fungicides which weaken their immune systems, and herbicides which eliminate the wildflowers they'd normally forage on between almond blooms. Meanwhile the aquifer depletion is permanent. The Central Valley has sunk 28 feet in some areas from groundwater extraction. That water took 10,000 years to accumulate. It's being drained in decades for almond milk. Your vegan latte killed more bees and used more water than a year's worth of dairy milk. But it's got "plant-based" on the label so you're definitely saving the planet.

South Korean Coast Guard said it detected over 800 Chinese vessels illegally entering its EEZ, but could only seize 142, as many switched off AIS to hide their true identity before deliberately evading law enforcement & exploiting Korean waters. Now, South Korea has adopted a "Zero-Tolerance" policy as China's illegal fishing is threatening marine resources & the livelihoods of local fishermen. @Joel_P_Atkinson @harukaawake @YoichiroSato2 @paulmidler

The Museum Civilization There is a peculiar class of modern Westerner who believes history has been permanently retired. They speak of conquest the way a child speaks of wolves. Simply confident it no longer applies, offended that you would even mention it, and deeply upset when reminded that teeth still exist. They insist the world runs on rules now and that borders are sacred. Also that true power has been replaced by paperwork. This belief is not moral in the least. It’s f*****g archaeological. They live inside institutions built by violence, defended by men they no longer understand, and guaranteed by forces they refuse to acknowledge. Like tourists wandering a fortress, they admire the stonework while mocking the idea of a siege. They confuse order with nature. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Then blame the person that reminds them of this. Civilization is not the default state of humanity. It is an achievement that is temporary, fragile, and expensive. It exists only where force once cleared the ground and still quietly patrols the perimeter. A lion does not debate the ethics of hunger. Neither does a starving empire. History is not a morality play, it is a pressure test. When pressure rises, abstractions collapse first. Laws follow power; they do NOT precede it. Property exists only where someone can prevent it from being taken. Sovereignty is not declared, it is enforced. The modern West outsourced this enforcement, then forgot the invoice existed. So when someone points out uncomfortable realities (whether about Greenland, Venezuela, or the broader balance of power) they respond with ritual incantations: “You can’t do that.” “That’s wrong.” “That’s against the rules.” As if the rules themselves are armed. As if history paused because we asked nicely. This is how empires fall. Not from invasion alone, but from conceptual rot. From mistaking a long season of safety for a permanent condition. From believing lethality is immoral instead of foundational. Every civilization that forgot how violence works eventually relearned it the hard way. The conquerors did not arrive because they were monsters; they arrived because their victims could no longer imagine them. The tragedy is not that power still exists. The tragedy is that so many have forgotten it does. Idk who needs to hear this but civilization is a garden grown atop a graveyard. Ignore the soil, and someone else will plant something far less gentle. Hate me for being the messenger and asking the hard questions about conquest if you want. You’re just wasting your time.

@amlivemon 👍 I always assumed Ramstein was the only reason that kept the US from a full withdrawal. I come from a city that had a huge US army presence for decades, but they shut it down. Then German authorities settled in refugees there... crime rates going up like crazy... bad swap...
