@beechball_45424 I know nothing about launch angle, so can’t answer that. That’s a good take, but velocity doesn’t make a pitcher better and some people say “it’s easier to hit faster pitching” 🤷🏽‍♀️ (not me)

The average MLB fastball velocity has consistently increased, rising from around 89 mph in the early 2000s to approximately 95 mph in 2025. This coupled with the demand of more break in the sliders/curve balls has led to 35.3% of active major league pitchers having undergone Tommy John surgery, a 29% increase since 2016. Needless to say, pitching has become more violent and thus harder to hit. When you combine the increased pitching difficulty with the lack of desire to be a contact hitter, I think this is the likely outcome. What do you think of launch angle and how it affects contact rate? Any correlation?

This past season, two players in the MLB hit over .300 with one at .299. Makes you think - overall, is the hitting worse than past years? What and why is it? Makes me think. #wannatalkhitting #GoBucks

Well, had a wonderful dinner after recruiting….Talking hitting with a buddy and demonstrating - then…no lie…a random guy at the table next to us “interrupted to try and tell us how to coach hitting” All I can say, that didn’t last long 😁 #OhioStateSoftball

College baseball World Series doesn’t have a SINGLE repeat team from 2024. I’m curious to know if there is a rule or unwritten rule not to send teams to the same regionals back to back so the match-ups are different from year to year? 🤔 #ncaasoftball
