🩸 A Brother in Need — Help Find a Kidney Donor for Roman Fleszar!
The wrestling community has always been built on grit, loyalty, and brotherhood — and one of our own now needs us more than ever.
Roman Fleszar, a name etched in New Jersey and collegiate wrestling history, is in urgent need of a kidney donor. Roman is a two-time NCAA Division I All-American, placing 7th at 133 lbs in 2000 and 5th at the same weight in 2001 for the Hofstra Pride. Before his collegiate success, he was a three-time state finalist and two-time state champion from the storied Kittatinny Regional program in North Jersey — a true legend of Garden State wrestling.
Now, Roman faces a battle off the mat — one that calls for the same toughness and heart he’s shown his whole life.
Please share this post far and wide. Let’s rally together as a wrestling family and community to help find a living kidney donor for Roman.
If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about donation or compatibility, please reach out — wrestling family, let’s show up for Roman! 💪🏼

@adamtirapelle TBH, not sure how great of a discussion it would be. In my experience there are people who live in reality with regard to this topic, (you) and people who don’t.

@GlobalWresOrder Part of me thinks the lack of information has actually helped them with recruiting. If they showed the BTS, everyone would realize they operate very similar to all quality programs. Some of the mystery that you would only learn by joining would be gone.
English

@GlobalWresOrder I agree it’s not good for fans or the sport. But the highest achievers in the world focus on what’s primary to success, if they believed content would benefit them they would put focus into it. If not, it’s just an afterthought.

Rd2 because I live this topic.
Most of the youth in ‘elite’ training programs focused on one sport should just be playing multiple rec sports.

What’s a coaching opinion you have that would have people like this?

Lots of elite athletes have succeeded despite their development as opposed to because of it.

@adamtirapelle I’ve been saying the same thing even for ‘just’ really good HS wrestlers. The hold back and now double hold back doesn’t make sense in the long run. You can always redshirt as a freshman if you need the year to develop. Only so many miles before the tread runs out.
