@AKinneyAU @GaryALloyd Seems to me a school on the same campus, is the same school, not a separate school. Sharing a lunchroom definitely makes it appear that way. Let me guess, not one athlete is a member of that “separate” school?

@GaryALloyd Built separate school that is on the same campus, uses the same lunchroom, some students have classes at both schools, go to pep ralliestogether, use the same gym, students at separate school can play sports for Albertville High, coaches for Albertville teach at other school, etc

How did Albertville lose 400 students in a two-year cycle?

Too many want the title and paycheck of leader without the responsibility of leading. Leaders are responsible for the team, their growth, their experience. Every decision is about the team, not the leader. Leadership is about humility and service, not pride and power.

The 8 Realities of a HS Coach 1. It will consume you 2. There will be critics 3. You are not in it for the $ 4. There is no overnight success 5. You need a supportive spouse 6. You will not make everyone happy 7. You can’t want it more than the kids 8. It is always worth it!

For those colleagues of ours that argued for @AlabamaFTBL after their nauseating loss @OU_Football in November in primetime on ABC? I submit for your approval today’s appearance in Tampa against @UMichFootball. Oh I know, “they didn’t care, their fans didn’t either” the excuse machine in T-Town is never ending! However, the greatest line perhaps came from @KirkHerbstreit “I don’t wanna hear about wins!” Ok then, how about performance? Does that matter? If that doesn’t? What does🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

A little “offseason” Math: 1. Miss 1-2 offseason workouts, you (and your coaches), will know it. 2. Miss 3-4 workouts, your teammates will know it. 3. Miss 5 or more workouts, and your opponents will know it!

I recently received a DM from a young coach who wants to be a Head Coach someday. He asked me what I thought about being an HC. This is what I told him. Being a Head Coach: Be careful what you wish for. I encourage most guys to stay at the Assistant level if they have a good Head Coach. It's a great place to be. You have a smaller group of athletes to be responsible for, you get to do what you love (coach the game) and you have a layer (the head coach) between you and the parents and admin. Being a HC requires much more than just x's and o's. If you're organized, a good project manager, great with people, and can delegate some of the play-calling duties, then being a Head Coach might be for you. If those aren't your strengths, then I'd strongly consider not being a head coach. It will suck the joy of the game right out of you. #CoachingLife #Leadership
