Talking about the various restaurants that were where Gahan is now on Queen Street. Jester’s Court, Amici’s, Garrison District Ale House, Vault 29… I think we’re missing one before or after Amici’s.

@oliverdueck From this article/review I found, looks like it was Mojo's immediately before Ale House (which confirms my recollection that there was a blueberry chicken dish that carried over from Mojos to GDAH, might have been sane chef). So must have been Jesters, Amici, Mojos, Ale House

#yfcburgerbattle23 burg #16: the Bacon Jam Smashburger from Claudine's Eatery. his didn't actually match the posted description so they may have made the wrong burger, but it was still pretty good, if not remarkable. I was looking forward to that bacon jam though

#yfcburgerbattle23 burg #15: Baby Got Mac from Monks & Jonesie. I think this one made it into the top 3. Delicious meat, whiskey maple bacon, roasted garlic aioli, panko breaded tomato, and the key feature: creamy mac and cheese, which worked oh so well.

#yfcburgerbattle23 burg #14: the Aphrodite from St James Gate. It was nice having an alternate meat as pretty much everything this year is beef and I do love bison. Sun-dried tomato pesto was great, as was the lemon/garlic whipped feta. Cherry tomatoes were a nice changeup too

#yfcburgerbattle23 burg #13: the Mushroom Mozzarella Monster from Cannon's Cross Pub. An unfortunate amount of iceberg lettuce hides the glory beneath of a mound of sauteed mushrooms and tons mozza cheese. The spinach dip is a fantastic add, though I wish there was more of it

#yfcburgerbattle23 burg #12: the house burger from Jenna's Nut-free Dessertery. Great example of a burger with no weird gimmicks but just really solid all-around. Just cheese, bacon, tomatoes, pickles, micro greens and a great aioli. Delicious beef on a buttery toasted bun

#yfcburgerbattle23 burg #11: the Beef Bonanza from Rustico. This hit the spot - two juicy beef patties, some very moist and flavourful brisket, lots of cheddar, chili mayo and chili flakes for kick and some refreshing tomatoes.

#yfcburgerbattle23 burg #10: the Juicy Lucy from STMR.36. Photo doesn't quite show it but the bun was comically small compared to the patty but that's my only complaint. The patty was juicy and flavourful on its own but the caramelized onions pickles and sauce complemented nicely

#yfcburgerbattle23 burg #9: the PJ Smash Burger from The Pickle Jar. This was great- delicious meat, grilled onions, deep-fried pickle slices, lots of creamy cheese and excellent special sauce, encased in what I believe was a purpose-built custom bun for maximum containment

#yfcburgerbattle23 burg #8: the Afterburner from Rocket Burger. Fairly simple but effective. Love the roasted red peppers and the hot sauce was nice (though could have had a bit more kick). Ghost pepper chips added some pleasant crunch and more heat

#yfcburgerbattle23 burg #7: the Sitansisk burger from Pine Tree Pub. The patty was quite flavourful (a friend of mine thought it may have had onion soup mix in it?) but overall this was fairly unremarkable. Good, but not special

#yfcburgerbattle23 burg #6: Rise &Grind from Ringo's Bar & Grill. Easily the best one yet. Themed around coffee, this has a dark roast reduction glaze, coffee dusted onion straws, and coffee liqueur aioli, plus lettuce/tomato for freshness and aged cheddar, and it all works great

#yfcburgerbattle23 burg #5: Pastrami Burger from Hilltop. Disappointing because the "pastrami bacon" seemed to be dehydrated pastrami, which was dry, hard and not very tasty. Actual pastrami would have been better. But the Maritime Madness sauce, vidalia and gruyere were nice!

#yfcburgerbattle23 burg #4: the Southside Smash from 540 Kitchen & Bar. This was the first really good one so far, great patty and love the chili pickles and honey Dijon combination. Was number 1 when I had it (2 days ago)

#yfcburgerbattle23 burg #3: Henry's burger from the Joyce. Not keen on pineapple on burgers (or pizza) as it's sweet and overpowering. I do like smoked meat and pimento cheese so they helped but overall this was kinda meh. The Prescott burger (reg menu item here) is far better

#yfcburgerbattle23 burg #2 was the British Blueberry from Snooty Fox. I'm a fan of blueberries with a lot of things, but not so much with meat. The compote was a bit sweet and it didn't help that the burger was a bit overdone and thus low on taste, so the blueberries overwhelmed
