In this last Pro-Am some teams could lose THREE series before elimination, yet OpTic lost just ONE in Grand Finals and were done. Here's a breakdown of the pros and cons for each format, based on perspectives from both the CDL and the community: Two BO5s (Bracket reset) ✅ Winners get the biggest possible competitive advantage 🚫 No real test of the teams' map pool 🚫 GF could end after only 3 maps 🚫 Too long for production if all 10 maps are played 🚫 Confusing format for new viewers 🚫 "Hype" gets lost in bracket reset BO7 (Current format) ✅ Decent test of map pool ✅ Manageable length for production ✅ Easy to understand format for viewers ✅ No reset, audience "hype" preserved 🚫 Winners only get a veto advantage BO9 (Winners start 1-0) ✅ Best test of map pool ✅ Meaningful advantage to winners ✅ Manageable length for production (8 maps max, only 1 more than current) ✅ Format is easy enough to understand ✅ No reset, audience stays locked in Maybe @dtsay56 can offer some insight on why we haven't yet switched to a Best of 9? 🤔
