The future of product management looks a lot like @ArnovitzZevi Zevi is an IC PM at @Meta, has no technical background—is scared to even look at code—but has taught himself how to use Cursor and Claude Code to build significant and real product. He's developed his own very powerful Cursor workflow that allows him to quickly add his ideas to Linear, develop a plan using Claude Code, build it within Cursor, and then have different LLMs review his code. @sytaylor Acorns is a super mission driven firm. They’ve sold their employees and customers on that! Hard to imagine they could ever get over that hump and move up market.

Acorns acquiring Go Henry is interesting. Fintech acquiring Fintech companies for distribution and product makes a ton of sense in this market. 🤔 Acorns has tried (and failed) for European market entry, which this acquisition helps them with. Go Henry was big enough to have users but reached its growth ceiling and did not expand beyond a bank for kids and parents. 🤔 The business case for accounts for teenager products is always "Can you grow with your users," which Acorns possibly can. This acquisition is logical, but the devil is always in the execution. 🤔 All of that said if I were advising Acorns my advice wouldn't be to partner with a teen account in the UK. It would be to go up market and deeper into Vanguard / Schwab territory with the modern mobile wealth management Fintech companies appearing.

This crisis exposed a lot - including an abject lack of leadership among a few of the more well-known names in tech. I'm grateful for leaders like Shamir and want to spend my career working with people who work calmly through crises, because that's what tech needs to survive.
