I started trading this system live at the pink line. Immediately went into a largest drawdown. Rather than turn the system off, I let the system do its thing. I wasn't convinced it was overfit or broken, all my studies were pointing towards unfavorable market conditions instead. After a year of sticking with the system, I has taken off to new highs and beyond. This is exactly why you must build trust in your systems and in your development process. Could you have sat in drawdown for a year?

Guys it’s official. An account with less than 200 followers says I’m a furu. Nobody has to trust me. My day job makes me 8-10x more money per year than my trading business anyway (trading business means money I make from subscriptions, or helping people, or coding for people etc.) Hence I don’t really care about your money, I do this for fun.

One of your articles I really liked was: "Trading System Investigation: Series 1 - Part 1". The one that starts from Bensdorp's idea. It's amazing how you can simplify a lot of the stuff, and still come up with useful signals. The age old adage: if there is a signal, it's strong enough to be exploited in the simplest fashion. Of course one juices it up by running on leverage! And it continued to work since Sep last year. Combining across Stock universes and with MR, gives pretty decent results.

Hi @Jared! Thank you for getting back. Yes, I'm interested in the restoring state feature. My implementation relied predominantly on logging the system's state, and after any re-start ensuring this state matched the broker state, with whatever logic associated to take a decision as to which (broker or system) should take priority. Would you be able to point me in the right direction in your documentation, regarding the state restore? Thank you!

Hi Corvin, not sure about your specific experience as we're not perfect - but statistically, what you're saying isn't representative. We have thousands of algorithms live that handle holidays, restore state and handle reconnections. Over the last 10 years of live trading we've hosted 300,000 live strategies - with QC attributed error rates around 1%/10 years. Occasionally servers die, brokers disconnect, etc but there's only so much we can do to prevent that. Generally speaking, most users don't make any changes moving from backtesting to live trading.

Anyone else using QuantConnect for backtesting and/or live trading?
