> Be Australian. > Vote for the based ultra right wing party. > They're elected (thank god). > Newly elected MP gives his first speech. > "I LOVE IMMIGRANTS AND COCK!". > Starts to cry about his love for immigrants and cock. We're not voting our way out of this, are we.

Just spent the last week in the UK I have to say I am very bullish - Chain slop restaurants failing - Small businesses coming back - People demanding real food - The average person in the street knows something is wrong None of that was the case 10 years ago Go on Britain

Cyprus is great but @emerald_springs and I miss being a bigger, more walkable city so we will most likely move in January. Looking for a long term home that is: - Walkable and with great public transport - Full of culture - Full of interesting people doing all types of things (not just tech bros) Shortlist is Valencia, Lisbon. Maybe Madrid and Barcelona. Which should we pick?

I genuinely feel bad for the people who have the good fortune of living in America, yet spend all their time hating the country that provides them so much opportunity.

@ussalEN It’s one of only about 5 real countries. The rest are all bullshit. A real country being: -they can make anything -they can produce enough food -strong culture -orderly like Asia but not conformist and not a shit mess like the west -big market market and growing GDP

Turkey paradox: - A dynamic private sector that still can PRODUCE things, survive in politically volatile emerging markets, a country that can work with anyone, - A struggling domestic economy with high imbalances Great long term asset with a lot short term risk
Robin Brooks@robin_j_brooks

Turkey's core goods deficit, which excludes energy and gold imports, was a stunning -$7 bn in Mar. '26 (blue), the widest ever. This is entirely due to domestic policy, not war with Iran, and is why there's now such big depreciation pressure on the Lira. robinjbrooks.substack.com/p/turkey-blows…

My wife's cousin and his family from America were at a funeral in Frankfurt and slept at our place as they had a flight in the morning. "How is your father doing?" my wife asked her cousin. "He is very ill" he replied. Probably severely obese and fell from his mobility scooter, I thought. "His medical bills are bankrupting our family" he continued. Typical Americans, I thought. "We booked the cheapest flight with four stopovers back to Colorado just to save money for his medicines" he said. I choked on my Jägermeister. Once they were sleeping I called the airlines and added the most extensive climate compensation packages. Ended up charging €3,600 to their credit card, more than the cost of the flights. They may be sleeping, but climate justice never sleeps. Have a beautiful European weekend, Wolfgang
