Great teachers are willing to share because they view the world as an unlimited sum game. There is plenty for everyone to be successful. #TXed

Wise words from @BethWhitaker2 on teacher reflection. Pause and make the time, take in feedback from stakeholders and identify mentors that will support your growth. #onepirateship

@LaDue Give kids time to read. Increase their access to books. Encourage and support their reading choices. Foster reading relationships between kids. Celebrate and cede space & time for their opinions about books. Teach them to read critically.

In “my” districts we don’t trade tens or hundreds when adding/subtracting, we SHIFT tens. This applies to concrete models as well as algorithms. And we use number bonds and horizontal addition for a long time. Vertical addition in grade 1 can be risky. It’s a grade 4 standard!

@gregtangmath @DianaRiosteach I want to try this way! 😍 I think my students would have a better understanding as opposed to carrying on top. What do you think?

#ThoughtForTheDay Never stop being positive because of negative people. Never stop being excellent because of average people. Never stop being a believer because of the doubters. And watch how your life starts changing...for the better. #Culturize
