These are few tips to help/aid in reducing or minimizing fuel consumption in your car(s).. The condition of your tyres matter a lot, if your tyres are over or under inflated, it affects the rate at which your fuel burns up while driving.. Every extra load/people your car carries adds extra loads on the engine which in turn increases the fuel consumption in your car, it might not necessarily be in the trunk of your car, the amount of people you carry in your car means additional weight too, additional weight means additional work rate for the engine which causes at least 2-3% increase in fuel consumption. For the AC usage, I’ll advise you do whatever works for you, there’s really been a lot of debate and arguments about this in times past, but I’ll remain on my stand professionally, USE YOUR AC!! If your car AC is in pristine condition, Use it, It aids driving and does not increase fuel consumption excessively as people think. Driving with your windows rolled down means your car is acting against the force of air resistance (aerodynamics), the car is designed to move easily through air but this is only when the glasses are rolled up with your AC on, this is the only time when fuel efficiency is improved, if you drive at high speeds or anything above 70KMs with your windows rolled down, it increases fuel consumption in your car, air drags and tends to pull your car backwards while driving which creates additional load on your engine and in turn increases fuel consumption. If you have to drive at high speed, using your AC with your glasses rolled up will save you a whole lot of fuel while driving, if you have to drive at a low and very minimal speed, driving with your glasses rolled down will save you some fuel but how comfortable will it be for you to drive under excessive heat of the sun or under a heavy rain at low speed without your AC and your glasses rolled down? So we made one final video to send to our client to update him on the condition of the car before delivery… We delivered safely back to Ibadan. We appreciate our client for trusting us with his money, his car and his treasures even though we had never met or seen each other physically, he saw our jobs on X here and reached out to us, this is one of the reasons we will always stand on the side of truth and never betray the trust of our clients. We acknowledge the fact that we’re not perfect and we make some unexpected errors some times, we thank you for bearing with us and taking your time to point out our faults to us, your constructive criticisms have really helped us to be better people as a brand, we will never take the love you have for us for granted, thank you for always giving us the chance to use your cars to make you happy. We thought to make the car key look better because the one that came with the car wasn’t so presentable enough so we decided to buy and program a spare which looked more sophisticated. The car was ready for delivery and we delivered with a full tank. As at this stage, we had fixed the AC, engine was in good condition and very sound, transmission system was fine, we bought and fixed brand new tyres and balanced the 4 wheels, all suspension systems were intact, the interior was in good condition, all electrical components were functioning optimally. We test drove for 3 days before we delivered, we also made sure there were no oil leakages from anywhere.

This is what the interior looked like after we were done with the Upholstery works, we tried to give it our best shot.

The car came out and turned out well from the Oven, it was a beauty and joy to behold. We had replaced the 4 tyres already, then this is the stage we do not overlook or joke with at all, the general car wash and interior cleaning, we made sure everything was on point.

We had a very interesting time in the Oven. There’s one thing with using quality and genuine materials to bake cars, it boosts your confidence and makes your job stand out always, the difference is always clear, for us, it’s quality materials or Nothing. We would rather decline a job than accept any job that would make us compromise or manage materials because of price tags, the end always justifies the means. As at this stage, we had nothing to fear or worry about.

We had to peel and peel deeply, we had to grind off the previous materials we applied on the body, we thought it was only the bonnet initially until we discovered we had a whole lot of task on the roof of the car too. We had to make sure we peeled off to the level where we were going to get the desired result we hoped for. We placed order for another set of materials and applied again, we didn’t lower our standards or the quality of the materials just because we were bearing the cost, we didn’t compromise on the job despite the fact that it was very physically stressful and engaging, we just had to make it right and that’s how we love to work @DMautosolutions These corrections took us an additional one week, we called our client to explain and we carried him along with videos and updates, we loved the fact that he understood and he didn’t put us under any form of pressure, he believed in us and trusted our judgement.

Everything was set to go into the Oven here but shortly before going in, I noticed some little reactions on the bonnet of the car, we didn’t see it coming at all, we noticed some on the roof of the car too, it was something that could have been easily ignored because trying to correct those reactions we noticed would mean we have to start the Oven baking preparations all over, it would cost us additional expenses we didn’t plan for and it would be time consuming. We decided to go and start all over. If we decide to leave it like that, the car would have still come out fine and the owner wouldn’t notice anything but it wouldn’t last, it was only a matter of about 2-3 months before the materials would start peeling off and fading away, we don’t like to joke on our integrity. We couldn’t leave the errors like that so we had to put the Oven baking to a halt.

The oven baking preparations went smoothly, the combination and applications and type of materials used at this stage are very important, they will determine the outcome of the whole job during and after baking. We also like to take our time at this stage and we leave the car for few days to check and observe if there would be any reactions from/on the body of the car. Everything seemed so good here and we had no reason to anticipate any challenge ahead, little did we know what was coming for us as regards the body of the car. The car was almost ready to go into the Oven here.

We proceeded to the next stage of work which was to remove the seats and roof and start the general interior upholstery works, it was quite a lot but it wasn’t beyond our area of expertise, we had just one job, to make the car look as pristine as possible. We were working simultaneously because we had a time frame to work with. We then moved ahead to the panel beating works and oven baking preparations, we replaced the headlamps and some important body parts and made sure they were well aligned with the initial designs of the chassis. The body and chassis looked quite good and had no reason to anticipate any challenge, little did we know what was coming ahead for us as regards the body of the car.

So we had the engine removed, we already knew where the leakage was coming from and we had placed order for a genuine oil seal, oil seals come in different grades and so do the prices, as small or little oil seals may look, the roles they play in car engines are highly significant, it is better to go for the best once and for all and this also has to do with other car parts, genuine car spare parts are quite pricey but you will get value for your money, It is also important to know that not all Mechanics/Artisans know how to identify genuine spare parts, or know where to place order from so they advise clients based on their own limitations or knowledge and this is not their fault, it doesn’t make them less skilled, just different levels of exposure on the job and most times, the client/customers are always at the receiving end. We placed order for a brand new steering rack, power steering pump amongst other parts that were to be replaced. The mechanical works and repairs went well.

The car arrived our workshop @InsideOsogbo safely and we began to troubleshoot, we discovered some more faults asides the ones our client complained about, there were issues with the suspension systems and there was this leakage from a particular seal in the engine, the engine had to be removed entirely in order for this fault to be rectified.

We got a call to pick up this lovely baby from a location in Oyo State, our client wanted us to do a total and general revamp of the car, we @DMautosolutions asked for the faults they had noticed and the issues they’ve been having with the car, we noted all the responses but of course, we were still going to test drive and troubleshoot for more faults.

This is the time you should be mindful of what filling station you buy fuel from, some filling stations don’t have good drainage systems and in raining seasons like this, fuel in reservoirs tend to be contaminated. Most of the faults we’ve had to rectify in the past 9 days has been about damaged fuel pump, clogged Nozzles and faulty fuel system in cars due to contaminated fuel in the tanks. Also do not let your fuel gauge get to the lowest level before topping up, this will make your fuel pump perform more optimally and effectively. Keep winning guys, with love from @DMautosolutions

We got a car from Lagos mid February this year and this person has been trying to reach us since November last year but we have been very busy, his complaint was that he hears this annoying sound while driving and he doesn’t like it.. He said numerous people had tried to work on it and he had replaced shock absorbers and all suspension systems, he wasn’t satisfied, the sound kept on coming and he had spent lots of money.. Just as we tell our clients before we pick up cars, you have to be patient with us as we love to take our time to work on cars, minimum time for delivery was 2 weeks and he was fine with it. He asked for the estimates of the shock absorbers, lower arms with bushings, linkages, ball joints and other accessories, we told him we use genuine spare parts only and he was satisfied with the estimates, he paid for the services of a driver to pick up in Lagos from @InsideOsogbo and the car arrived our workshop @DMautosolutions safely. The car arrived and we test drove, took us two days to discover the fault, he didn’t have to buy anything, we rectified it, I called him on the 3rd day and said the car was ready, he was shocked, I told him we had fixed it, he asked for the bill and I told him we didn’t buy or replace anything, we returned the car the 4th day and till now, he hasn’t had any issues with it, he asked how much his bill was and I told him not to bother, I initially told him to use the car for 3 days and give me a feedback, it’s been over a month now and I just saw a credit alert on the account details we sent to him for the driver’s pick up and delivery fees, he just called to say thank you and said “May God keep blessing you, don’t stop the good works of honesty” I just thought to share this here because his generosity really means a lot to us, I had even forgotten we worked on his car.

Went for prepurchase inspections yesterday and meehn, it was quite an interesting adventure. They had sent some pictures to my client, and those pictures were really captivating and lovely, very clean car. I requested for the VIN so I could run some background check ups, car had a good history, low mileage and accident free, I confirmed all these online. I asked him for the price and it wasn’t bad for that model and type of car at all, he was ready to pay but he said he just wanted me to check the car out before he paid. One thing about me is that no matter how attractive or captivating a car is, I would never recommend or pay for a car I haven’t seen and inspected physically. I got there and seriously, I wasn’t really surprised but again it was an avenue to learn again, the car didn’t look like a foreign used car at all, the interior looked like a Naija used and well package car, I was curious as to why some parts were shinning more than other parts and discovered it had been shabbily painted before, the interior wasn’t as neat as portrayed in the pictures and videos sent. I scanned the car and the engine was quite fine and in a good condition but I wanted to satisfy my curiosity… I was wondering why the check engine signal wasn’t coming up when you’re about to ignite the car, I went further to check the catalytic converters under the car and discovered they had been replaced, it’s not bad they replaced it but it was with inferior ones, it wouldn’t last and would later affect the car, the oxygen sensors were missing so they in turn blocked the check engine signal from the dashboard. There’s a way to know if they packaged AC for you, such that it will get cold at the point of inspections but would pack off later, We did our thing and discovered the trick, the Ac was packaged too. The engine was in a very good condition and the transmission system was fine, so based on all I found out, they were going to sell a Naija used car as a foreign used car, I then decided to negotiate and beat the price down by 3M cheaper for my client than the formerly agreed price, the dealer said No, I called my client and advised him accordingly and I said I couldn’t recommend the car and I explained to him, he was happy and he appreciated my moves. Shortly before I left, my instincts just told me to go ahead and verify the VIN from Autoreg, I called my plug and sent a token to help check on their database, lo and behold, the car had been registered before, how didn’t I know? Or suspect? then I looked closer and discovered the front and rear bumpers had been replaced to new ones so there were no signs of number plates tightened to them before, our client dodged a bullet. The dealer did everything he could to convince me, tried to lure me with some stuffs but noooo, we don’t compromise @DMautosolutions Our prepurchase inspection charges are enough for us. Stay vigilant and careful out there guys.
