This is why you actually gotta consider the players and not just the leagues they play in. I’m as pro “USMNT players going to Europe” but not every player playing in Europe is more helpful than those in MLS. It’s case by case. Gozo is in MLS because he’s young. He will be in Europe soon. Aaronson is in Europe and plays at a decent level, but I don’t personally think his contributions, either for club or country, have shown that they’ll be helpful at a level like this. Will Gozo? He may not be ready. I’m not saying he’s a terrible omission, but yeah I think he has more utility than Aaronson. The leagues they play in is irrelevant. Besides, the reason almost all our WC team should come from Europe is because that’s where almost all our good players play. It’s not due to some pro or anti either continent sentiment.

I was flying home with a massive migraine and all I wanted to do was sit in the window seat I had paid extra for, close the shade, put in my earplugs, and sleep. I got to my row and found a little girl sitting in my seat next to her mom. I politely said that was my seat. Her mother waved her hand and said, “Just take the aisle.” No. I did not pay extra for a window seat so a stranger could assign me to a different one. So I stood there until they moved. The mom put her daughter in the middle seat, which immediately triggered a full tantrum. Crying, whining, kicking, the whole performance. Then the mother looked at me and said that if I wanted the crying to stop, I should give her my seat. Again, no. At that point my head was pounding and my patience was gone. I turned to the child and said,..........

You are wrong, Jason. Also, I don't understand this argument. The first inning happens, and it includes 33% of the guaranteed plate appearances each spot gets. I have done the math on every single possible scenario for every game since the inception of the Universal DH, so forgive me if I am not going to just accept someone's gut instinct on the subject. This is NOT even the most important factor. It is the fact that the three-hole has fewer impact plate appearances than the 1-2 spots, and the 4, for that matter. Those are, plate appearances in which a player has an opportunity to give his team a lead or tie the ballgame. This not only holds true AFTER the first time through the order but becomes even more glaring throughout.
