Microsoft has officially acknowledged that the new Copilot key on Windows 11 hasn’t landed the way they hoped. After replacing the traditional Right Ctrl or Context Menu key on new PCs, power users and those relying on assistive tech found their workflows disrupted. Later this year, Windows 11 will introduce a system‑level option to remap the Copilot key back to its original functions, restoring the keys people depended on. This update will apply across all devices with a Copilot key. It’s good to see Microsoft openly admitting a misstep and rolling out a fix driven by real user feedback. @alecoot @marcusash are there any plans to go back and add some older already announced Insider features to the feature flags page? Ask Copilot on the Taskbar is one example that comes to mind. Was announced months ago but it's not in the feature flags list at current.

Xbox needs to move faster, deepen our connection with the community, and address friction for both players and developers. Today, we promoted leaders who helped build Xbox, while also bringing in new voices to help push us forward. This balance is important as we get the business back on track. As part of this shift, you’ll see us begin to retire features that don’t align with where we’re headed. We will begin winding down Copilot on mobile and will stop development of Copilot on console.
