Inspiring visit to the Gunjur Inclusion Centre last week, where disabled children are able to access play and feel fully included in society, with amazing support for families also. We need more of these here. More at Disability-Africa.org. @DirectoratDA

Esther and Gregory our wonderful #PlayLeaders have grown the busy playscheme in Zambia from 3 to 4 days/week in 2023 - building on improvements in the health and happiness of disabled children since they began attending - the #playscheme is now an essential part of their week.

Disabled children are routinely excluded from everyday life so we do not wait for schools to register disabled children we actively find them and ask them to come to our playschemes where they are fed, safe, happy, clean and their health monitored and prioritised.

Why don't we run schools? We all learn through play. So if a disabled child does not play, they do not learn. We don't wait for culture to change in schools – we run playschemes which are safe places for disabled children to learn with professional play teams. What do you think?

Our play staff visit children's homes if they go missing. A simple solution is that we will offer transport to and from the playscheme so that transport is not a barrier for disabled children. Get in touch to find out mor about how we use PLAYSCHEMES as a force for inclusion.

Meet our Malanga Inclusion Project team in Kenya. This year they plan to increase delivery at our playschemes for disabled children by as much as 50% - building on what was an excellent 2021 - when they delivered more than 8,000 child visits. We're all looking forward to 2022.

Sierra Leone Inclusion Project is busy in the children’s garden - “The garden is a fun way to for children to plant, identify and harvest groundnuts, maize, potato leaves and cassava – known as an intercropping. All of the crops have been used for meals at the playscheme. 🌱
