I know the majority of people are probably going to say this is a "bad take"....but it's clearly a wide open lay up until a guy who was on the ground while I'm mid layup decided to jump... this is the type of stuff I'm talking about when I say paint defense needs to be more precise. If this gets blocked cleanly, I'm totally fine with it. But in order for this defender to jump and "contest" me he literally had to foul me in the process. But 2K does not call these fouls for whatever reason. Watch anyone contest a layup in the NBA, they don't jump into the shooter...they either jump straight up or away. No ones flying from across the other side jumping into the shooter without a foul call. Layup finishing would be way more realistic if actual fouls were called and paint defense would be more skill based. Sure, it may result in more free throws...but that's a part of the game. Slashers draw fouls..and this would stop players from unrealistically jumping at EVERYTHING going to the rack regardless of positioning. Whistle needs to come back as an elite finishing perk. 95+ Layup and Dunks should have it.

@BeLiKeDime @Rxxvnj They made it that way to stop post players from cheesing back downs. I think Mike Wang said something about making the ball very tangible when down low

Oh yeah that's the worst one. I had a clip of that from this same game too. You can not dribble in, around, or out of the paint without losing the ball. It's been horrible from the jump. That has to go too. There needs to be some kind of automatic ball hand switching/protection...at least for high rated ball handlers. I don't mind if low rated handlers don't get AI assistance in those situations.

Really hope this doesn't make it into 2K27. This is obviously offline against the AI, but the same thing happens online as well. You beat the defender clean but end up in a bump steal animation. All that happens is, the defender inadvertently knocks the ball loose at the tail end of the contact animation. They aren't actually trying to steal it... it's just that any contact with the ball from the defender seems to end up triggering this. The idea makes sense, but it's obviously flawed in certain scenarios. This is why that patch that so many people praised was reversed. Sure you could probably get a steal in a situation like this in real life, but that's not what this is, so please don't present that disingenuous argument. #NBA2K26

@BeLiKeDime I understand your take.. however ball tangibility is needed and probably the best way to stop cheesey left right speed exploits. If we were able to knock the ball or they lose it bumping into defender before they could use the exploit, trust me, people wouldn’t complain as much

@maximum_static Hey to each his own, I’m not here to dictate what playstyle is skilled and what isn’t…but if your playstyle involves breaking the parameters of the game in any shape or form to gain an advantage, you can’t talk about skill. You’re essentially cheating.

Anytime I hear a 2K player talk about “skill” or “skill gap” I just laugh. Half u niggas can’t even figure out how to get open without glitching the game/animations. Knock it off.

@chasen_hines @DiscipleXL You run exploits irl stop the cap. Cut corners everyday IRL but when little Timmy drops you off that’s where your day gets ruined. Get better or just cope.

it’s DEFINITELY worth it. Just takes some getting used to Most people can’t get 3s off anymore, so it’s free Ws if you can.

These 2 steps backwards don’t always go 3 steps forwards. You can’t have 5 PGs on the roster. You would have to cut Nolan and or Saraf.
