Today is the biggest Bears game since I don’t know when. This one will be different for me, I won’t be watching from the comfort of my own man cave or at a friends house. I’ll be watching on my laptop from the corner unit in the oncology ward, as my youngest daughter receives chemotherapy to fight Stage 4 Kidney cancer. I’ve never felt so close to hell being surrounded by rooms of balding, crying children and one of them being my own. I have hope that through it all God is still good. I am confident of this. But mann would it ever help if the Bears beat the Packers today. 🐻⬇️

the last year has been rough i’ve poured everything into this music, this career i cared more about my project than my life and it caught up to me i sacrificed everything for it: health, mental state, relationships with my family, loved ones, best friends a combination of years on the road, no sleep, days off, mixed with addiction, internal conflict and mental illness drove me to a never ending streak of the darkest days of my life i didn’t want to go outside, talk, be seen or perform without being a version of myself that i am proud of - but also had years of booked shows and didn’t have the will to cancel shows to take time of, reconvene, realize what was happening to myself, and to take some time to get better i’m taking that time now, getting help, going to therapy, rehab, over the next couple months i hope to become the version of my self i recognize, most importantly as jalal and second as chasewest i have the best fans, you have gotten me through so much and gave me the will to keep going, the will to get back, the amount of love i have for you is indescribable, any pain and trouble i’ve gone through is worth any second of joy or inspiration i’ve given you, i hope we get to create many more in the future love you always and forever - Jalal
