Gallrein didn't just win the primary tonight. He destroyed Massie across the district. Gallrein won 12 of the 14 counties where at least 77% of votes have been counted, and the two counties where Massie is ahead are among the smaller portions of KY-04. Yes, Massie was targeted by lots of big money — but he had his own billionaire supporters, and it's not clear yet that he was even outspent. But maybe spending the weekend before the election hanging out with at least one overt Holocaust denier and other rabid "influencers" wasn't a great way to win more votes in northern Kentucky. Perhaps there's a lesson there for other aspiring (or current) Republican office-seekers?
