@Nigerian_Doctor She wants her options open without appearing to cheat bcos she's now in an environ she'll most likely attract options, hence the breakup. Become more valuable bro, that's the only way to save yourself from heartbreak nowadays. You can't keep any woman, you can only attract more.

@Dr_Afo They don't plan on ending it any time soon because it ensures the continuous supply of cheap labour. Employers would fight any attempt to end it with everything they've got.

NYSC is not fair at all. As I've always maintained, NYSC has long overstayed it's usefulness It needs to be scrapped off the face of the earth.

A lot of us depend on this salary for our livelihood. We spent years in school studying yet we are being treated like we don't matter. @MDCNOfficial House Officers deserve better. We complain about this same issue every month. Don't you people have conscience?

Let Easter give us hope of a better Nigeria ahead. As we commemorate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, even amid difficult times, we encourage you to remain steadfast in hope. Indeed, “Good Friday must come before Easter Sunday,” and our present challenges must not define our future. We understand the heavy burden many families are carrying as a result of economic hardship. As we share in your struggles, we urge you not to lose heart. These difficult moments are temporary trials—our collective “cross”—that can lead to renewal if we remain resilient and committed to the common good. Our nation continues to face serious challenges, especially in governance and the impact it has on the daily lives of citizens. Yet, Easter reminds us that after sacrifice comes renewal, and after darkness comes light. A better Nigeria is possible when we, together, choose accountability, compassion, and responsible leadership. We remain hopeful that, through God’s grace and the determination of our people, the journey ahead will lead to a brighter future. Though the road may be rough, we believe in a Nigeria that works for everyone. May this Easter renew our faith, strengthen our resolve, and inspire us to work together for a just and prosperous nation. Happy Easter. -PO

The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors should not have to beg for what has already been agreed upon. The Federal Government signed a deal on the Professional Allowance Table, and now it wants to abandon it. This is not governance; it is betrayal. Our resident doctors are the last line of defence in hospitals that are already collapsing. They work gruelling hours, in impossible conditions, for pay that insults their sacrifice. And now, the government seeks to take away the little that was promised? The Tinubu administration must demonstrate commitment to the issues: 19 months of unpaid Professional Allowance arrears; promotion arrears gathering dust; a Medical Residency Training Fund stuck in bureaucratic limbo; and a government that treats its doctors as an afterthought and remains unconcerned as they flee the country in droves. Every doctor Nigeria loses to the UK, Canada, or Saudi Arabia is a failure of leadership, not a failure of patriotism. You cannot ask people to serve a nation that refuses to honour its own word. I stand with NARD. Pay what you owe. Honour what you signed. Or explain to 200 million Nigerians why their hospitals will go dark on Tuesday. -AA

PAT is the Professional Allowance Table—a negotiated pay structure for resident doctors in Nigeria (via NARD). It covers enhanced allowances for call duty, shift duty, non-clinical tasks, and rural postings. It was agreed with the FG post-2025 strike to boost welfare and retention in healthcare. Implementation started Feb 2026 but is now being halted from April, sparking the strike over 19 months of arrears too.

🪼🪼Breaking news..... FG DRAGS NARD TO ANOTHER AVOIDABLE STRIKE Summary of NARD Extraordinary National Executive Council (e-NEC) Meeting today April 4, 2026 virtually PREAMBLE The National Executive Council (NEC) was informed about the Federal Government's (FG) decision to remove the Professional Allowance Table (PAT), a development deemed unfortunate. @FEMMY466 Residency is a brutal exploitation period and they use the end to justify it but honestly for me, the time, sacrifices and cost is not worth what it offers at the end, especially in Nigeria. This is not to say stop, you’ve put in so much to go back now, it’s best to get 2the end

I'm strongly considering quitting this residency thing, I cannot keep earning this amount while working this much. It doesn't make any sense! Monday to Sunday work and if you calculate it per hour, I probably earn less than the cleaners in this place.

When Trump has to tell our President to go home and lead, you know the situation is critical. 🇳🇬 Maiduguri is in mourning, families are shattered, and yet the "State Visit" in London continues. Trump is right about one thing: this is a NATIONAL EMERGENCY. Tinubu, get on the plane. Now. ✈️💔 (PS: Seeing this Truth Social screenshot everywhere tonight. If it's real, the pressure is officially on. If not, the sentiment remains: LEAD FROM HOME.)
