Burnout isn't about hours worked. In fact, there are usually much deeper causes. Leaders should start to recognize when it's occurring, And take steps to help. Use this graphic to find causes of burnout in your organization.

@Girlguiding the IT infrastructure to support volunteers needs improving. Circle of doom trying to add UMAs yet again, but in scouting the register you would take would link to the programme entered to record the badge activity. Badges easily visible to parent and young member.

There are so many unresolved tensions in our daily work. I agree that they should be done in advance and that also reworking them is inefficient and annoying…. The biggest problem in medicine is lack of continuity. We get no reward for being organised and efficient.
Hassan Ali Beg@NotoriousB_E_G

TTOs shouldn't be done in advance unless next day discharge is 𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗱 - most estimates are too optimistic - most have to be updated + changed =double the work Hospitals should put out locum shifts if they want to prioritise discharges

I’d love it if all gerries trainees did 4 months in GP and all GP trainees did four months in gerries (some unlucky GP trainees do no geriatric medicine during their training!!) - surely possible @gerisoc @rcgp @NHSEngland ?
Dr Marian Dover@DoverMarian

Doctors of all specialties: “Follow up GP tomorrow” “GP to chase results and contact patient” “See your GP in 48hrs” None of these are safe plans. GPs aren’t sitting around waiting for work. Put more juniors in GP so they can understand our specialty.

Well done to the organisers @AnnieArcher and Libby Wilson, the umpires and the teams for another great charity rounders match. The medical consultants came a well deserved second. @uhbwNHS

So much learning #bgsconf @rob__briggs OH is not good for older adults ➡️ more falls & fractures 1. Amnesia for events & lack of awareness of low BP 2. Low BP dips < 100 on 24BP ⬆️ falls / fractures 3. Watch out Bermuda Triangle - cognition/mobility /OH 4. B blockers & SSRI 🛑

Do you know which drugs to stop first in orthostatic hypotension? You might be surprised! The best drug is losartan, says @laramitchdr — and give it at night #BGSconf
