There's been a few over the years yes, but if police are arresting for carrying prescription meds they already don't know the law. We give similar advice generally to avoid debate, issue is a prescribing clinic isn't making clear to patients the actual law - and instead implying prescription copies must be carried, which is patently untrue.

@MedBudUK @mamedicauk It’s not ‘needed’, but the number of patients getting arrested for carrying their medication is alarming. You shouldn’t have to, you’re right, but I’ll continue to tell patients to keep a copy of their prescription on them if they go out in public. Common sense.

@mamedicauk No patient needs to carry a copy of their prescription on them, and no-one outside of a judge in a court of law can actually legally demand one from patients - even police can't. This is incredibly poor guidance @MamedicaUK, please don't spread misinformation to patients.
