A proud day for @SpaceParkLeic & @PhysicsUoL as the #SMILE mission successfully launches into orbit. Our team led development of the Soft X-ray Imager — the first instrument capable of observing Earth’s magnetic field in X-rays. From Leicester to space 🚀 #SpaceParkCommunity

"Houston, this is the most spectacular view… you can possibly imagine." –Apollo 16 astronaut Charlie Duke As the Apollo 16 crew began their flight to the Moon on April 16, 1972, they captured this view of North America from their spacecraft. Beginning NASA's fifth lunar landing mission were astronauts John Young, commander; Ken Mattingly, command module pilot; and Charlie Duke, lunar module pilot.

Computer models used to forecast air quality may have gaps when it comes to farmland—especially irrigation—according to a new NASA-supported study. Integrating space-based observations could help close these gaps and, ultimately, improve air quality forecasts.

UK particle physics and astronomy are facing “catastrophic” cuts while science spending received a record increase. Documents seen by ⁦@BBCNews⁩ suggest money has been diverted away to government research areas. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Let people run how they want. If I want to wear race shoes on a regular Tuesday, that’s my choice. If I bring a hydration vest to a 5K because I like being prepared, that’s fine. If I walk the uphills, that’s not weakness. That’s pacing. If someone is brand new, they belong. If someone runs slow, they belong. If their body doesn’t look like a magazine cover, they still belong. If they use run walk intervals or train for fun instead of a PB, that’s valid. Running is already hard. It asks a lot from our bodies and our minds. We don’t need to add judgment on top of it. I’d rather be part of a community that supports than one that ranks. What’s one thing you’ve felt judged for in your running?
