No, you cannot walk 10,000 steps daily, get 8 hours of sleep, cook every night, clean every day, take care of a family, make time for your own hobbies, and still be productive at work every day. This is not just propaganda, it is nonsense. Free yourself from it.

Civilization was built by people like this, and there is a stunning lack of gratitude in our culture for their work. In this specific case, at least half of the apple varieties in Brown’s collection were considered “lost” until he personally tracked them down and saved them. He literally went on quests where he did things like, tracking a lost variety back to a stump of a long-ago-cut-down tree near an abandoned homestead in remote Appalachia, took cuttings from the green shoots coming out of the stump, brought them back and planted them. Absolute legend.
Undiscovered History@HistoryUnd

Tom Brown, a retired engineer, dedicated 25 years to preserving approximately 1,200 apple varieties from extinction.

New changes are coming to the ERAS® application in 2027! 👀 The AAMC is introducing updates to the MyERAS application aimed at improving how applicants present their experiences and how residency programs evaluate candidates. Here’s what future applicants should know: 1️⃣ “Publications” → “Scholarly Work” Starting in the 2027 ERAS season, the Publications section will be replaced by a redesigned “Scholarly Work” section. This new section uses clearer categories for academic activities and allows applicants to highlight their most meaningful research contributions, helping programs better understand the impact of their work. 2️⃣ New AAMC Letter Writer Portal Letters of recommendation will now be submitted through the AAMC Letter Writer Portal, a centralized system designed to streamline the submission process, improve transparency, and reduce administrative burden for letter writers. 3️⃣ Specialty-specific evaluation letters The AAMC is working with some specialties to implement standardized letters of evaluation (SLOEs) to support more consistent comparisons between applicants. Early participating specialties include: • Urology • Dermatology • Integrated Plastic Surgery The 2027 ERAS updates aim to shift the focus toward clearer evaluation, meaningful achievements, and more structured application materials. Follow @uworldmedical for the latest updates on medical school, residency, and board exams.
