The indie game scene should have been the pinnacle of artistic experimentation with video games-as-a-medium. Instead, we’ve mostly got a plethora of co-op slop, boomer-shooter slop, roguelike slop, and horror/low-poly PS1-style slop.

I’m seriously loving Yoshi and the Mystery Book so far. It’s insane how much content’s packed into each level and chapter. Really does feel like 2D Mario 64 with how much freedom you get as a player.
