A few months to 2007 elections, the ministry of Youth Affairs sought a Speaker's kamukunji to present a red-flag report analysis to 9th Parliament's 222 MPs Only a few attended. While the post-election violence that ensued is largely linked to the botched presidential election, pre-election hotspots had been flagged. In the aftermath of PEV, some of us faced backlash as we crusaded against torrents of revenge. We Nyeri MPs, in collaboration with area security chiefs, faced such difficulties in Nyeri town. I recall Uhuru encountering resistance of his supporters in the Kabete area. In fact, although a team of us recorded community reconciliation messages broadcast in Inooro & Coro radios, not even mainstream media was spared the temptation to take sides. If I recall well, only NTV carried the story of our Nyeri Leaders' huge peace processions. We protected and assisted all non-locals within our county. Later, the Nyeri-Marakwet youth exchange program heralded a deliberate effort to communities-driven national cohesion. My friend & MP colleague then, my 'niece' Jebii Kilimo, starred admirably in this national reconciliation venture. Back to 2007. Youth Affairs Permanent Secretary Kinuthia Murugu spoke to the handful of MPs about the real threat of youth uprising and mitigation options. Deaf ears. Shortly, PEV visited pains and deaths. Victims depicted as villains. The rest is history. I was privileged to serve in the Kibaki-Raila grand-coalition cabinet, enabling me to preside youth activities across the country. We did some little yet very important programs. But even then, funds allocated to youths - including Kazi Kwa Vijana (KKV) and Youth Enterprise Fund - were being stolen with impunity. Those mishandling Football Kenya today were frauding Harambee Stars then. If you resisted, you were countermanded in docket. My unapologetic position against the mega 2015 NYS Scandal is partly the reason I lost Mukurweini seat. I am grateful to Almighty God that I escaped dangerous traps. But this post is not about us then. It is a statement about the youth bulge and the real threat to Kenya's national security. Our youths are desperate, angry, and impatient, reasonably so. WE have betrayed and disinherited their aspirations, visions, and dreams. WE are robbing their present future and crashing their future in masquerades of 'economic empowerments'. And now, Ruto's regime is adding salt to injuries by parading ethnic profiling similar to pre-2007 countdown. That time, even the most highly educated mlima elites bandwagoned anti-Raila slogans while ODM perpetrated anti-Kikuyu sermons. Then, in a swift, the New Dawn dispensation ushered a fresh Constitutional order. We said never again ethnic prejudice, believing electoral fraud was buried 2010. Mwai Kibaki was a decent man, very tolerant. Uhuru's handshake with Raila 2018 promised a hatchet burial in the aftermath of 2017 electoral theft. BBI was, insidiously, born. Political chicanery resurrected. Ruto saw the crack; he dashed to roam political skulduggery. Hustler won, fairly. Now, a crafty, ruthless & heartless Ruto is in control. I, with all due respect, do submit that William Ruto is plotting and is financing politics of ethnic bigotry and violence. If Kenya is not handled well, 2027 election will be the end of our relative peace and tranquillity. The youth uprising awaiting to blast will be out of this world. Time bomb. But WE can do justice by insisting and demanding, firstly, a transition arrangement beyond Ruto's IEBC, and secondly, a compromise WANTAM TRANSITIONAL Presidential candidate. Thirdly, WE in the United Opposition must offer a radical manifesto glueing GenZs to the patriotic cause. We know what to do to get Kenya back on course. The nonsense of 'tutam' is not whatsoever an option, not unless we want Kenya to collapse. Political ambitions should be tempered with modesty. #RutoMustGo

This is Chris Murungaru. He was the kitchen cabinet leader during kibaki reign. He served as the internal security minister and was part of the gang that orchestrated Anglo leasing.. After Kibaki retired the guy set up a dairy farm somewhere in Kieni. He went silent and has never been seen since.
