@dcharrison My hobby horse is that I don’t think SS COLA should increase faster than average earnings of working class, since working wages. It’s necessary to join at the hip the retired class and the working class in solidarity. We can’t have one group not care about the other.

@300XC_W We should look at spousal/survivor benefits because those generally involve increasing benefits that are unrelated to an individual’s personal contribution. Doesn’t make sense to me.

I will use every procedural tool at my disposal to impede a debt-ceiling deal that doesn’t contain substantial spending and budgetary reforms. I fear things are moving in that direction. If they do, that proposal will not face smooth sailing in the Senate.
