Fernando Tatis Jr. has lost his lawsuit against Big League Advance.
Tatis was paid $2 million as a minor leaguer in exchange for 10% of his future earnings.
This was not a loan.
If Tatis didn't make it to the big leagues, he didn't have to repay the $2 million.
But Tatis did make it to the big leagues and later signed a 14-year, $340 million contract.
That meant Tatis owed Big League Advance $34 million.
Tatis had publicly praised Big League Advance, saying the $2 million allowed him to hire a personal trainer, upgrade his apartment, and eat better food.
But after realizing he owed $34 million in exchange for $2 million, Tatis sued the company, alleging that they used predatory tactics to lure him into an investment deal that was really an illegal loan.
The judge disagreed.
The agreement was upheld this week and Tatis was even ordered to pay Big League Advance’s legal fees.
This is a big deal because Big League Advance has signed deals with 700+ athletes, including Elly De La Cruz (MLB) and Nolan Smith (NFL), across MLB, NFL, and college sports (think: NIL).
And now that the courts have ordered Fernando Tatis Jr. to follow through on the agreement, other potential legal challenges will likely go the same way.
@potential__sam@JoePompliano Was just curious who would have the financial capital to be throwing money around like this. I'm not siding with Tatis, I just looked at the company owners Wikipedia page and it all makes sense. But go off about living in caves 😂
@Rexnoct@PhilsPlayerDev@Phillies They have been coming over since the 60s. A majority of them haven't worked in the MLB. Ichiro and Ohtani are the exception, not the rule.
Signed & sealed✍️ Welcome to the Phillies family, Chan-Min Park!

Training in the weight room isn’t just about “staying healthy.” It’s about giving yourself a chance to be elite for a long time.
Chapman is 38 years old and is throwing the ball better than ever. I get to the clubhouse around 5:30 AM every day during spring training… this dude is already drenched in sweat and 2/3 of the way through his workout before most people even walk in.
Physical specimen.
Oh… and then he leaves driving a literal tank… talk about Bad Ass
NEW: Lane Kiffin reportedly left Ole Miss because families were uncomfortable with Oxford’s racial history and lack of diversity…
Kiffin took issue with symbols like the Confederate flag, Colonel Rebel, and the nickname "Ole Miss" itself.

If you read this, I pray that this gives you hope. Your sin may be great, but God’s grace is greater. Turn away from sin and put your trust in Jesus 🙏🏽
“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
Ephesians 2:8-10
