Dr Olugbenga Anthony was practising medicine at UCH, Ibadan, when his path crossed with Ms Goodness Taiwo Adeosun, a 400 student of dentistry at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan in 2019. Goodness was under Olugbenga's supervision. Sadly, their professional relationship transcended into a romantic relationship. According to Dr Olugbenga, Goodness, who is also a shoemaker, made a pair of leather slippers for him. He also crossed professional boundaries when he accepted her invitation for a drink at a restaurant. Dr Olugbenga Anthony had carnal knowledge of Goodness Taiwo Adeosun. However, he regretted his actions because he was married and he was a devout Christian. That was when shit got ugly. Feeling betrayed of being piped and swiped, Goodness reported Dr Olugbenga for sexual misconduct to UCH. A six-member Subcommittee of the Committee to Develop A Sexual Harrassment Policy headed by Professor Olayinka Omigbodun investigated the allegation and dismissed it for lack of evidence in 2019. In 2020, Dr. Olugbenga Anthony relocated to the UK to continue his medical practice. In 2023, Goodness Adeosun petitioned the UK Medical Practitioner Tribunal Service over the sexual misconduct against her ex-lover. A UK tribunal investigated the allegation and threw out of the window for lack of evidence. If Dr. Olugbenga was found culpable, he would have lost his job and be deported back to Nigeria. Goodness insisted that she was sexually abused by Dr Olugbenga. Investigations carried out in Nigeria and the UK found her allegation to be baseless.
