Love how in the USA there are companies that pollute the environment leading to people dying (not just climate change but actual toxic waste in the fucking water supply). But hey why sue them, when you can sue Valve right?

Valve has asked the court to throw out the New York Attorney General’s lawsuit, citing Pokémon cards, Happy Meals, and Labubus, accusing the company of illegal gambling through Counter-Strike weapon skin “cases.” The lawsuit claims these mystery “cases” in Counter-Strike 2 and CS:GO let players, including kids, gamble real money by paying for a chance at rare virtual items In a 42-page filing on May 19, Valve says the “cases” do not count as gambling under New York law because players always get a random weapon skin for the money they pay, just like buying sealed packs of baseball cards, Pokémon cards, or the toy in a cereal box. The company says there is no “stake” or chance of losing money, as it is just the surprise element common in collectibles. Valve warns that the Attorney General’s idea could make normal activities illegal, such as parents buying trading cards for their kids or families playing arcade games. The filing notes that these loot boxes have been sold for over ten years without objection from any other U.S. state. Valve wants the court to dismiss the whole case “with prejudice.” If denied, the lawsuit seeks triple damages on billions of dollars Valve made, plus an order to stop sales to New York residents.

Wouldn’t it be great if we weren’t dependent on a bunch of unstable extremist theocracies and corrupt oligarchies for over 50% of our energy needs? And instead we harnessed the power of the sun, wind and atom? Would be cool, I think.

See, one China trawler can strip more fish in weeks than local fleets catch in months Now picture 10,000 of them, nonstop, year-round, ignoring recovery cycles and crowding waters near places like the Galápagos Islands This is eco-terrorism. And we’re still too quiet about it

@GG_ez2 @ShitpostRock Play with medium size navy the rest on default. Play as Germany, and.... well just mess around with the menus. You can get a general idea with this video: youtu.be/43aiy_fCCE8?si… For specific things go look for the manual online. It tells you how every thing works. Good luck.

There’s a surface level appeal to Sarah as a first sub-saharan pope. It satisfies liberal hunger for representation, but Sarah is everything the globalist wing of the Church doesn’t want in a Black Pope. He is not a liberation theologian. He defends Latin Mass. He warns of Islam’s expansion and Western moral collapse, so he’s used as symbol, but never seriously backed. You capture a growing sentiment: a kind of desperate hope from the more Tradition-oriented laity and commentators. Cardinal Sarah has become a quiet symbol of what the Church could be: austere, ascetic, metaphysically serious, rooted in silence and awe rather than ambiguity and PR. They’ll never let him near the throne but that’s exactly why he belongs there: a pope who would restore silence not synods and sacrifice, not slogans. Cardinal Sarah isn’t the Church of the world. He’s the Church of God. You want an African pope? Good, take one who kneels before the Eternal, not the zeitgeist. However, nearly 70% of the current cardinal electors were appointed by Francis. Most are aligned with his vision of a “pastoral, synodal” Church: decentralized, ecumenical, and often ambiguous on doctrine. Sarah, by contrast, represents a clear return to form. Despite his African roots and personal humility, Sarah is often cast (unfairly) as part of the “reactionary” camp. He speaks of the crisis of relativism, the loss of sacred liturgy, the spiritual sickness of the modern world, all of which run counter to the globalist, secular friendly tone many Church leaders are cultivating. More likely, we will see the election of someone like Cardinal Tagle , Zuppi, or Hollerich, who are all progressive or at least center-left, and could continue Francis’s line with more charisma or political tact. The most hopeful scenario for traditionalists might be a pope who appears moderate but is quietly rooted in orthodoxy. Someone like Cardinal Péter Erdő, or even Cardinal Müller (though unlikely), could quietly halt the progressive drift without sparking open schism. Even if a more traditional pope is elected, the structural reforms and ideological shifts under Francis will not be easily undone. The Church is in the midst of a long internal war between horizontal humanitarianism and vertical transcendence. Sarah speaks the language of transcendence, of silence, of God first. That voice may not win the conclave, but it is gathering strength among the laity, young priests, and monks. The seed has been planted.
