The National Weather Service is predicting higher than normal temperatures this week. Additionally, gusty dry winds (10-30mph) are expected this Wednesday and Thursday. Avoid activities that have potential to start a fire including yard work, BBQ's, and warming fires.

PG&E has confirmed that a possible Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) will occur this Wednesday at 5 pm until Thursday. Currently, the City of Auburn is not anticipated to be affected. However, residents should click here psps.ss.pge.com to see if you’ll be affected.

The latest update from PG&E: - PG&E has crews prepositioned to inspect power lines as soon as they are able to re-energize - Power restoration will begin after critical fire weather has subsided (estimated 2-5 days)

When the power goes out, the traffic lights may turn off as well. Drive cautiously on your commute to work this morning and allow extra time to account for traffic delays.

PSPS WHEN: Oct 9 between 2am-4am (tomorrow morning) WHERE: Multiple counties throughout Northern California including the City of Auburn and surrounding areas. HOW LONG: Power restoration may vary in different locations but can be as far out as later this week.
