Most interview prep is optimized for writing answers, not saying them. We built Four-Leaf to close that gap. An AI interviewer that adapts to your role, gives real-time feedback, and helps you sound confident, not just prepared. Try it free at four-leaf.ai

"Walk me through a project you're proud of" separates prepared from unprepared faster than any behavioral question. Unprepared candidates summarize the project. Prepared candidates explain why they made the decisions they did, where it almost failed, and what they'd change now.

@JosephPolitano The state-level slowdown is what's missing from the national headline. It's why strong candidates are running six-month searches even with clean resumes. Geography is doing more of the work than skill set right now.

@GergelyOrosz The flip from cutting-edge infra to data labelling is the part those engineers won't forget. Even if Meta course-corrects, trust costs more to rebuild than equity does to issue.

Never heard so many standout infra engineers + AI infra eng actively wanting to leave Meta than now. A month ago they were building cutting-edge infra and then got assigned to AI data labelling Most of them went “WTH” and now I’m the middle of interviewing Madness from Meta

We just shipped a chat assistant on Four-Leaf's LinkedIn Optimizer. Ask it to rewrite your About section, suggest stronger skills, or pitch a career pivot. Responses stream and the conversation sticks around when you come back.

When we pass on a candidate after the final round, the reason is almost never "not qualified enough." It's usually "didn't show us how they think under ambiguity" or "couldn't articulate why this role." Those two come up more than everything else combined.

Candidates keep saying 'I automated everything with AI' in interviews. No mention of verifying output or knowing when the model was wrong. Automation without oversight isn't fluency. The candidates who advance describe the verification step.

@FourLeaf_AI I just checked FourLeaf site looking for the careers tab but couldn't fine as I'd love to join the team in marketing or engineering.

@GergelyOrosz The unspoken part is that this changes how you interview from year two onward, not just at the offer stage. Candidates who'd never have considered a counter-offer culture are now interviewing somewhere new every 18 months by design.

It’s probably time to acknowledge that more tech top-tier companies will follow what Amazon has always done: every year, push out 6-10% of staff. You can call it whatever you want, Amazon has been doing the 6% URA target for at least a decade, probably more. These places pay top dollar, and expect top performance, and the bar for what that means will keep rising every year. The upside of joining is money, pedigree, network. Once you leave (whether voluntary or not) you typically have far better career options vs before you joined (true for the majority of folks) And it comes at a price

Meta laying off 10% of staff when revenue is at an all-time high, revenue growth is a beast (33% YoY!!), profits at an all-time high: just depressing These layoffs are not because Meta needs to lay off, but because Zuck wanted to lay off for whatever reason

@Simon_Ingari The asymmetry is the part nobody on the company side wants to defend. If a 24-hour reply window is "professionalism," a 24-hour rejection email is the floor, not a favor.

HR ghosts candidate : Common practice Candidates take one day to reply to an offer: Lack of seriousness. HR terminates with serving notice : Company policy Employee leaves without notice : Burning bridges HR rejects candidates over small employment gaps: Risk assessment. Employees asks why role has been open for long : Difficult. HR terminates employees with notice: Business restructuring. Employees resign with notice: Disloyal. HR says salaries are confidential: To avoid conflict. Employees discuss salaries: Violation of policy. It becomes hypocrisy when professionalism only applies one way.

I scan a resume in about 30 seconds. First five go to your most recent title, company, and tenure. Next twenty go to the skills section and your top two bullets under the current role. Everything below the fold is conditional on those passing.

When an interviewer pushes back on your answer, most candidates get defensive or repeat the same point louder. The ones who advance treat pushback as a prompt. 'Fair point, let me revise my thinking.' That single response tells us more about you than any prepared story.

Most candidates treat the phone screen like a warmup. It's a gate. More people get cut here than at any other stage. What we're listening for in a 20-minute call is whether you sound like you've thought about this specific role before we called.

@Adam_Karpiak "Top applicant" on LinkedIn means you cleared their keyword filter, not their hiring bar. The actual top applicants in our pipeline are usually the ones who found a way around the form.
