Trooper Bob Curry – Special Air Service (22 SAS) Bob Curry is a legendary British Special Forces veteran whose decisive actions under immense pressure defined the climax of the 1980 Iranian Embassy siege (Operation Nimrod). Serving as a Trooper in B Squadron, 22 SAS, Curry was part of the rear assault team tasked with breaching the building from the back patio. When a primary explosive charge failed to detonate-threatening to stall the entire counter-terrorism operation and leave his comrades exposed on the balconies-Curry took immediate, bold action. Armed with a sledgehammer, he stepped forward to single-handedly smash through the fortified glass windows, creating the critical entry point that allowed the SAS assault teams to flood the building, eliminate the terrorists, and rescue the hostages. His raw physical courage and quick tactical thinking during those high-stakes moments secured his permanent place in modern military history. 🫡🇬🇧

Yesterday, my very first article for @sofmagpublisher magazine was released. Here is an excerpt from the article - Tiger Stripe Camo: How a Lizard Became a Legend: “In First Blood, John Rambo (played by Sylvester Stallone) is seen wearing an OG 107 M-65 jacket and not a Tiger Stripe camo jacket, even though his character was a Green Beret Medic. His knife was the now famous Jimmy Lile classic survival style Bowie Knife. Maybe he should have worn a Tiger Stripe piece of clothing and used a Gerber MK II, which was more commonly used by Special Forces operators during Vietnam, a discussion for another time.” And yesterday marked 41st anniversary of the release of the second Rambo movie, First Blood - Part Two @SKatzKeating , what wonderful synchronicity. Thank you for the opportunity to contribute to your publication, a magazine I have revered since my youth. Here’s to the first of many. The rest of the article can be found here: sofmag.com/tiger-stripe-c… #SoldierofFortune #MilitaryLife #Rambo

I was honored to reenlist my friend, Staff Sergeant @Johnny_Joey, into the United States Marine Corps. Joey has always been the kind of man who puts his country, his fellow Marines, and something greater than himself first—proud to have him back in uniform.

Autumn in Cape Town, South Africa After an incredible two days of rain, I finally got out on the bike. My best bru treated me to a 380g sirloin with extra fat on the side. I still came home and ate about seven eggs. Today, before the ride, it was just my fish oil caps. I managed an - IF of 0.889 - for the ride, which I’m thoroughly pleased with. ( with my best 30 second power for 2026 ) so more improvements After the ride I had five eggs, ran my errands It was my first day using the Altama Aboottabad Trail shoes, about 5 km. It was really cool to see the nod to the classic Panama sole used on their jungle boots, with just a slight variation on the tread pattern. This is not just a boot. It is a creation of pure function, born from a solution to actual real world demands. Founded in 1969, Altama is not just a company. It is a company that entered a market with one of if not the highest demands by its end user, the pipe hitter, the hardcore soldier in the thick of the action. Here is an example of their forward thinking. They did not create a boot and say to their operators here is a boot. No, they sat down at a table with one of the most revered units in the world, the US Navy SEALs, and asked what do you need us to create so that when you have been given the green light to go, you know with the utmost confidence that you are wearing the best. Styled after the most popular Converse Chuck Taylor ever, because the US Navy SEALs were already using them and having to improvise to find a solution for a shoe that was lightweight, offered stealth like properties, and gave the operator the solution to specific amphibious or maritime operations, they created the first OTB Maritime Assault Boot. The boot is so good. It is not just used by special operations forces but by people outside of the military, from technical and scuba divers, CrossFit and hybrid athletes, and those who appreciate really good street fashion. #Altama #AltamaBoots #USNavySeals #StreetFashion #MilitaryLifeStyle
