On Sunday, the LHS Choir, under the direction of Mr. Brian Scheller, was honored to visit Our Savior Lutheran Church for our annual LHS Sunday. LHS was represented at each service as Dr. Doug Kuhlmann and Dr. Jon Bernhardt shared updates on the school year, while Our Savior members and families were warmly welcomed by Events Coordinator Mr. Brent Hickenbottom and Alumni & Community Relations Coordinator Mrs. Kelsi Geuns. Our Concert Choir shared two beautiful selections: • Lully, Lulla, Lullay — Traditional English Carol, music by Philip W. J. Stopford • Meet Me There — words by Fanny Crosby, music by David von Kampen Thank you to Our Savior Lutheran for your hospitality and partnership! Next stop: Zion Lutheran on February 9th!

Lutheran High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Pierre Desir as Head Football Coach, beginning in the fall of 2026. Coach Desir brings a unique blend of elite football experience, servant leadership, and a strong commitment to mentoring student-athletes. A St. Louis native and Lindenwood University graduate, Desir is a former eight-year NFL veteran whose career was marked not only by excellence on the field, but by leadership and service off of it. He was twice named a Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee, an honor recognizing character, community involvement, and positive impact beyond the game. Following his NFL career, Desir has dedicated himself to developing young athletes through coaching, training, and community initiatives. He currently serves as CEO of Push Athletics, an organization focused on skill development, mentorship, and exposure opportunities for student-athletes. Through Push Athletics, he has led boys 7v7 programs and girls flag football initiatives, emphasizing discipline, accountability, leadership, and personal growth alongside athletic performance. Desir’s experience with athletes across multiple age groups has shaped a holistic coaching philosophy that aligns seamlessly with Lutheran High School’s mission to Grow and Serve in Christ. He views football as a platform to develop the whole student-athlete—spiritually, academically, and athletically—while building a culture rooted in faith, integrity, and excellence. “Coach Desir brings exactly what we want for Cougar Athletics,” said Melvin Bethany, Director of Athletics. “His passion for developing the whole student-athlete, combined with elite experience and a Christ-centered approach, will have a lasting impact on our program.” With a proven track record of building strong, values-driven programs, Coach Desir is poised to lead the next chapter of Lutheran High School football. We are excited to welcome Coach Desir and look forward to working with our student-athletes this winter and spring as we prepare for the future of Cougar Football.

Huge thanks to our Board of Directors for rolling up their sleeves and serving in the concession stand this week! Your servant leadership sets the tone for all of us at LHS! It was a fun night…we celebrated Senior Night across campus and beyond: Girls Golf and Boys Soccer here at home and Boys Swim & Dive at the Rec-Plex. Also, our Tennis Team took home a victory in the MSHSAA District quarterfinals at Fort Zumwalt East and a walk-off win for Softball vs. Hermann! Your example reflects our core values of faith-filled leadership, service, and community. Thank you for leading our school! #GrowAndServeInChrist #ServantLeadership #LHSBoardOfDirectors Left to Right in the Photo:  Rodney Verner - Immanuel Wentzville, Brandee Iannelli - Our Savior, Chris Foshage - Immanuel St. Charles, Katie Jones - Child of God, Amy Malterer - Messiah, Dianne Anderson - Holy Cross, and Blake Brown - Zion.

Congratulations to Chloe, Senior, and winner of Q2 Cougar Character Award! Chloe’s remarkable leadership and involvement shine in every area of her life. She’s a dedicated athlete, contributing to the softball, basketball, and track and field teams, and an active member of Key Club and Student Council. Her heart for service extends beyond LHS—Chloe has helped with Vacation Bible School, led basketball and softball camps for younger students, and volunteered at summer camps, sharing her time and talents with the community. Coach Luttschwager shared, "Chloe is a kind, loyal, and respectful individual. Those qualities have shown up in her leadership on the court, and her relationships with teammates and friends." Way to go, Chloe!
