Maple Class had a fantastic time exploring the science of separating materials through filtering and sieving. Their hands-on investigation sparked curiosity and deepened their understanding of how different substances can be sorted based on size and properties!

In PE today, we started our new unit - fitness. We completed a circuit of activities to test our strength, speed, agility and balance. It's safe to say our legs were on 🔥 after the wall sits! @GreenRidgeR2

We celebrated #NationalNumeracyDay day with a money investigation and by getting competitive with our house TTRS battle 🎸

On Tuesday afternoon, Maple Class embraced their artistic side, crafting intricate wire sculptures with creativity and enthusiasm.

This afternoon, Maple class enjoyed experimenting with wire in art. We created different shapes and lines and discussed what sculptures can protray.

Sycamore enjoyed a relaxing start to their Monday morning, reading in the library. One lucky child even got to spend their Reading Champion token in the vending machine #lovereading #reading4pleasure @GreenRidgeR2

In Science this week, we've been researching different life cycles. We then presented our findings to the class #workingtogether #investigativeisaac

In SPaG today, we have been reviewing our tenses learning. We created questions, then put them into a @Kahoot before playing the quiz to see how many we could get correct. #creativeconsolidation #limitlesslearninginfinitepossibilities @GreenRidgeR2

Maple Class used their creativity by writing imaginative stanzas inspired by The Magic Box by Kit Wright. Their words painted vivid dreams, filling the classroom with wonder and endless possibilities.

Year Five love library Mondays and getting to choose and read their new books. Two of our class even got to spend their book tokens (that they have been saving for the right book) today! #lovereading #readingforpleaseure @GreenRidgeR2

This week Maple class enjoyed creating automata animals. Some parts of the project were challenging, but all the children persevered, creating some amazing designs.

In Computing this week, Year 5 were looking at different camera angles and filming techniques. Maple class enjoyed planning and filming different clips for their video montages.

This week, it is #britishscienceweek2025 and the children have been tasked with creating an axolotl habitat on minecraft at home. Here's a step by step guide for if your child would like to participate #axolotladaptations

Y5 Sycamore loved their library session yesterday morning. Their parents and carers were invited to join in the fun and listen to their children read. Our reading vending machine sparked some curiosity too! Who will win the next reading token and choose a special book to keep?
