@G_Data_Cyclist @osm @openstreetmap @OpenStreetMapUS @openstreetnews @cyclestreets @SustransScot Cool! Will aim to link-up on GitHub at some point, lots to learn, and comparing the datasets both our approaches generate could be v. valuable. See our code (plus images for selected cities) here: nptscot.github.io/osmactive/

I've released cycleosm - a python library to extract bicycle infrastructure data from Open Street Map. It's simple to use and I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Recently I released the Near Miss Record - New York City - nycnearmissmap.com - an interactive map that collects and distributes comments on near miss traffic incidents.
Please have a look and share your thoughts!

@robinlovelace @osm @openstreetmap @OpenStreetMapUS @openstreetnews @cyclestreets @SustransScot Absolutely! I've attached images from the U.S. and Cambridge, as well as a screenshot of the output table (which is a bit hard to see). There are differences in how the tags are decoded, but the outputs are similar! Happy to share more

@G_Data_Cyclist @osm @openstreetmap @OpenStreetMapUS @openstreetnews Interesting! Could compare with categorisation we're working on in collaboration with @cyclestreets and @SustransScot, thanks for sharing the code, do you have any visualisations of the results (below is Cambridge's network with in-progress categories).

I created a Python library for extracting large OSM datasets from PBF files. It includes bicycle facilities standardized on both sides of the road and the minimum and maximum protection offered to riders on each segment. github.com/Bikingman/Extr…

Just released v2 of TinySDF, my ~1.2kb browser-side SDF font generator (useful for rendering crisp scalable text in WebGL) — now faster, with nicer API and ESM-only entry point github.com/mapbox/tiny-sdf

Just released the Safer Streets Priority Finder Tool, which enables practitioners to analyze risk to vulnerable road users by building dashboards, PDFs, crash density analyses, and risk estimates with local data. Would love your feedback! #R #RStudio #OSM

New version of r5r v0.4.0 has landed on CRAN ipeagit.github.io/r5r/index.html
This update of #r5rstats:
- Uses the latest R5 v6.2
- Allows accounting for cycling comfort given a max Level of Traffic Stress. This makes a big difference on the route one takes and how far/safe one can go

It's been a while, but I just posted a new How-To on measuring road network centrality (and what that means) among #bikeshare trips in #WashingtonDC using #pgRouting, #PostGIS, and #PostgreSQL! Let me know what you think!

@underdarkGIS Any chance your able to share slides if any @underdarkGIS?

@PetersonGIS Just set osm2pgrouting and successfully imported a small .osm test dataset from openstreetmap.org into a postgresql db linked to QGIS. So few steps, and was fast and easy 💪💪👌👌 currently letting the magic run on a much larger dataset, so we'll see how that works!! 🤞🤞
