@SteveWoodhead @SimonMagus Agree but whilst we have so many protected areas and groups in society just don’t see it happening until forced too

@Gary7gmg @SimonMagus Those are important issues but they’re not unique across the Western economies. Our biggest problem is debt. We’re borrowing money to pay our debt interest. It’s unsustainable. Dealing with it isn’t an option & time is running out.

There is no way to reduce the British state's fiscal problems and get inflation under control that doesn't involve around £100 billion in spending cuts. Any pundit or politician telling you otherwise is lying to you.

@Gary7gmg @SimonMagus They might well, but we do need leaders with the discipline & courage to make the right decisions. It’s why we’re in this mess in the first place.

@SteveWoodhead @SimonMagus It’s a lot harder now social media allows campaigns against things to organise quick and the media don’t help. Take winter fuel cuts , they wheeled out daily some little old women who said she won’t be able to eat now. It was bollocks pensions have risen 2k over last few years

@SteveWoodhead @SimonMagus Then if you do they realise it effects them and they are like “no didn’t mean me” a problem reform will have , more of their voters claim state benefits than other parties , if they start taking them away they will be in shite because those voters don’t think they mean them

@SteveWoodhead @SimonMagus Maybe we don’t but I would hazard a guess that even if you got rid of every single one it wouldn’t even dent the long term problem , which one of is ageing population with less and less taxpayers to pay for it , everyone says cut benefits for scroungers , fine but

@SteveWoodhead @SimonMagus And it’s impossible the minute you try your killing granny or starving cripples , public pressure builds and politicians back off. Reform would be worse !! They crave popularity they won’t handle unpopularity very well farage admitted as much

@SteveWoodhead @SimonMagus The difference is voters they don’t like cuts to anything , and the kind of cuts could make that wouldn’t effect anyone wouldn’t get you anywhere near the savings you need ! For that you need to deal with things like the pension triple lock , disability benefits

I had a fantastic time with some really great people and I want to thank everyone involved for the hard work. However, today while out canvassing, we were stopped by Restore activists who were driving around specifically targeting Reform voters. Two very young men asked why I would not vote Restore, so I explained exactly why. I am a third generation immigrant and I fostered a mixed race child. I judge people by character, not skin colour, religion, or background. But I do not like the rhetoric pushed by too many Restore supporters online and goes unchecked. They told me, “that’s just members.” My response was simple. It is the responsibility of a political party to challenge and curb behaviour. And if you are going to send children out to have adult political debates, at least make sure they understand their own policies first. If your strategy is driving around trying to stop Reform voters in the street, that probably says more about how your campaign is going than anything else. 2%

@SimonMagus I’ve never worked for a business that couldn’t implement a 7% cut in overheads. Many go much much further. It’s often essential to rescue the business , to reset priorities & focus on the productive. It’s a symptom of our decline that we’re unable to do the obvious.

There is also a by-election in Aberdeen taking place in a seat where in the MSP election the Tories nearly won. But funnily enough Restore aren’t standing a candidate here that could split the vote. @RupertLowe10 is only interested in hurting @Nigel_Farage. It’s pure revenge.
