Bike lanes are optional, I ain't going to use them just because you think I should. I'll judge the risks for myself. The cost of the facility is irrelevant.

Good to see @Leeds_Highways investing in cycling infra on H'gate Rd / Ring Rd roundabout. However, it seems like commuters aren't using it: the extra traffic lights slow journeys; it stops suddenly; & it's partly tiled meaning it's slippery. Should be better consultations w users

I raised the issue of promoting #cycling/#walking/#rail transport over electric cars, which contribute to low-density car culture and can be environmentally harmful themselves (although obviously better than fossil fuel-powered!).

Building cycling infrastructure is a much more effective way of maxamising road space to reduce congestion, as highlighted by this brilliant demonstration in Latvia on No Car Day 5 years ago... -B

An amazing example of how cycling can benefit a city!

The implementation of better cycle storage facilities would encourage people to #cycle to the town centre instead of driving, thus saving money and the #environment, as well as improving people's wellbeing.
