@BadgedPatriot Huh? I was babysitting at 12. My how times are a changin'. But on the plus side, the nosey neighbor is a good watch dog so to speak.

A neighbor called 911 to report a 12 yr old girl home alone with her 6 yr old brother. I went to the door of the 12 yr old & knocked & initially she didn't answer the door. I then announced myself & she did. I spoke to the girl for about 5 min & in doing so determined in my mind that she was mature enough that she could safely handle being there alone with her brother. I went to speak to the complainant & the woman disagreed that the two kids shouldn't be there alone. She said kids are kids & should never be left at home much less one child watching another child. She demanded I get child services out to investigate the parents. I advised the woman I'd make no such call to child services, my investigation was done, & if she wanted to file a complaint with child services she could & I'd gladly speak to them & advise of my findings. She then slammed the door in my face & started shouting from inside that cops are worthless. 🫤 I returned to my cruiser to leave & she was looking out her blinds at me so, as I pulled out, I waved & tapped my air horn to enjoy a nice community policing encounter as I left 😁👮‍♂️🚔

@1Nicdar There were two places. We only got to eat out a less than a handful of times a year, very rare. Two places were the A&W drive-in, cheeseburgers and the frosty mug and rootbeer, and Minards, best footlong hot dogs ever. Truly great times.

When I was a little kid growing up in Kansas, my parents would take me to the 76 truck stop on my birthday and let me order fried shrimp. I looked forward to it every summer. What restaurant felt like a huge treat when you were a little kid.

Not only should @johnthune be primaried in '28 but currently, every single R congress member needs to be replaced with very, very few exceptions. By their allowance of this treason, they are simply not strong enough to represent the citizens.
