@dualravens thanks for the information. I imagine the decline was so much because it had gotten large. Being from Asbury, I am glad to see it is to the plus. You would be a good addition there. I had not heard of Kairos.

Sad reality about Fuller. But not at all surprising. I say that as someone with 2 degrees and 15 years of teaching there in full time and part time roles. I still align with what Fuller says it is in its mission and other official statements. But I have felt like an outsider for that for a while. I have lots of informed opinions about why I think the decline happened, and actually might be encouraged by some there, but don't feel a need to share them publicly.

Reading through the separation documents that Orange Scott amd others wrote in creating the (now) Wesleyan Church. At the root of it all was a very high emphasis on the dignity and contribution of each person. Two main issues: slavery and episcopacy. The first dehumanized and, curiously, the second was basically was the same. Both silenced and restricted, the first totally and the second in fulfilling our God given role in participating in the Church. Add the fact this new denomination was the first to ordain women in the mid 1800s. It all comes back to a high anthropology oriented wholly by holiness in how we live and respond to others. #wesleyan.
