Tom, what are you saying? The news should not be about what matters to people? One of my old professors, the late Herb Gans, wrote a book called “Deciding What’s News,” featuring a sociological study of CBS and other outlets and how they decide what to report. It was the 1970s, so all decisions were completely top-down and inside-out. I don’t know anyone asking for a return to that. Except maybe you.
