@thallgolf In ways I agree. It’s not the masters, it’s not an open. 59 watch is fun.

Objectively cool golf course features. Who cares if the pros still shoot -24

DGC north course renovation by @TylerRaeDesign looks like it is growing in super well. Didn’t snag good pics, but the bunkering and greens look phenomenal. Can’t wait to see how it ends up when it opens this July

Question for the people who are smarter than me (so like almost anyone).
You strike the ball first and yet you get this weird grass mark.
How does this happen?

@Golfingbrock This is illogical. Baseball players scuff the ball so it moves more. Golfers don’t want the ball the move more in the air. Let alone in a way that is unpredictable
English

I’ve never understood the obsession with brand new golf balls.
Baseballs get rubbed in dirt. Footballs go through rigorous conditioning. MLB pitchers literally scuff the ball on purpose when they can get away with it.
Meanwhile golfers act like a fresh Pro V1 out of the sleeve is sacred.
At minimum, I need to chip it around a few times and dribble it off the cart path to give it a little emotional trauma before I trust it on the first tee.

Starting a new round with an old ball is a psycho move. Old balls get moved to the practice pouch.

@BigSwingTempo The issue is that we’re never good enough to ourselves. I bet at some point there’s a sense of contentment, but desire to improve remains
English

@Great8i Thanks man. Yeah definitely hard to define it. Maybe I’ll never know when I’m there? Either way I’m trying to make the fun part the process.
English

Will I ever be good at golf?
I’m sure a lot of people on here ask themselves that. Even though every account apparently drives it 300 and never misses a green.
I’d like to think one day I’ll consider myself good. But who knows?
Obviously I’d be disappointed if I never get there, but there’s no point getting angry about it.
10 years from now, I at least want to know I gave it a shot.
Detaching from the outcome and focusing on the process is probably the only way to actually improve long term anyway.

@chuskerenjoyer @MonkRecruiter No one cares about the balls being gone. You’re just a broke loser
