@AlBernstein Jimmy was my amateur boxing coach ( that’s him in my profile pic). He was a very humble guy and I didn’t realize then all the great fighters that he fought. I love seeing these clips of his fights.

@MonteroOnBoxing Greg Page exposed that Mike was not invincible while sparring and you are exactly right about Buster Douglas- he came in with a plan that broke Mike down.

That uppercut!!! Douglas showed the blueprint for how to beat Tyson. All the rumors that Tyson didn’t train are bullshit - there is NO WAY he would have sustained that much punishment if he wasn’t in incredible shape. Buster was just the better man on that night.

35 Years Ago Tonight February 11, 1990 DOUGLAS KO's TYSON James "Buster" Douglas knocks out Mike Tyson in the tenth round at the Tokyo Dome to become boxing's undisputed heavyweight world champion. Tyson's first loss in 38 pro fights One of sports history's greatest upsets

@LinealBoxChamp This is a great example of why Joe is one of my favorite fighters. Mathis was a much bigger fighter but Joe was the aggressor the whole fight. He would just keep coming at you and wear you out.

A great little ‘un BATTERS a good big ‘un. Buster Mathis (243lb), 23-0, had quick hands, a good boxing brain and nearly 40lb in weight over Joe Frazier. It didn’t matter though; Smokin’ Joe broke Buster down and flattened him in round eleven.

@AdamsBoxingShow @itsjules007 Tyson wasn’t overrated. Holyfield was just a great boxer with an iron jaw. Holyfield is one of the few heavyweights that could throw heavy 6 punch combos and stay in position and not off balance- hard to do on a bag - super hard to do in a fight.

@itsjules007 Mike Tyson has beaten better fighters than your favorite fighter Tank Davis if we keeping it all the real bro. Mike Tyson is in the discussion for best fighter of the 80’s. If he’s overrated, then your man is too 😂😂.

Jimmy Ellis and Joe Frazier rumble at Madison Square Garden in 1970, the final showdown to decide the true successor to exiled world champ Muhammad Ali. Smokin' Joe won after he floored Ellis twice and the bout was stopped after round four. #Heavyweight #History #Boxing
