Developmental biology. Prenatal hormone exposure. Brain differentiation. Receptor sensitivity. Intersex variation. Neuroanatomy. The reality that human sex development is a process, not a single moment. Modern medicine does not treat sex as a light switch. It treats it as a cascade. Here is the part that is almost never explained in public debate. All human embryos start from the same template. In the early weeks of pregnancy, every fetus develops along a default pathway. That is why men have nipples. They form before sex differentiation begins. No mystery. No ideology. Just timing. Genital development begins later, driven largely by hormones. If certain hormones are present, external genitalia masculinise. If they are not, they do not. This process happens in a specific window of pregnancy. Brain development related to identity, body mapping, and self-perception happens on a different timeline. It is also shaped by prenatal hormones, but not at the same moment as genital development. These processes are separate. They can align. They can also diverge. When they diverge, you get transgender people. This is not speculation. This is documented across endocrinology, developmental biology, and neuroscience. It is observed across cultures and throughout recorded history. It is why gender identity has a neurological basis and why attempts to suppress it consistently fail. The same biological reality that explains why men have nipples explains why trans people exist. Development does not happen all at once and it does not always line up neatly. Gender-critical arguments depend on pretending none of this exists. They collapse complex human development into a primary school diagram and then insist that anything beyond it is fantasy. That is why their explanations feel so confident and so shallow at the same time. They are arguing from a stopping point, not a starting point. From what they were taught before the science moved on. Medicine has moved on. Biology has moved on. The evidence is not new. What is new is how loudly people are insisting on staying behind. When people finally see the timelines laid out side by side early fetal development, genital differentiation, later brain differentiation the reaction is almost always the same. Oh. I didn’t know that. And once you know it, the idea that trans people are “pretending” or “ideological” stops making sense. This is not belief. It is biology playing out over time. You cannot argue human development back into a worksheet.

The victims of these abhorrent crimes deserve justice. All children need to have their innocence protected. Every single one of the perpetrators should face the full force of the law. As you know, in 1997 the Channel 4 programme Despatches broadcast "Soccer's Foul Play" - it included allegations of sexual offences against children by former Southampton FC coach Robert Higgins. Two decades later Higgins was convicted of sexually abusing young children and was sentenced to 24 years in prison. Southampton FC commisisoned Barnardo's to conduct an independent review into Higgins, who worked for the club until 1989, in 2019. A joint letter urged parents to "make an informed choice about his contact with your child/ren" bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan… That is an example of action taken following the Despatches programme in 1997 to reduce the risk of more children becoming victims of Higgins. Section 248 of the Barnardo's report (image below) tells us that there is no record of the board of Southampton FC even discussing the allegations against Higgins, let alone evidence of them taking any action in relation to them. You were chairman of Southampton FC in 1997 Rupert, having taken over the previous year. I've posted these questions several times now in the hope you'll acknowledge them: Are any of these details incorrect in any way? Why didn't the board you led have a minuted discussion of the allegations about Higgins revealed by the programme? Given the serious nature of these allegations, why didn't you commission a review or inquiry into Higgins actions while at Southampton FC? Given the conversations you've now had with victims of childhood sexual abuse, do you regret that you personally didn't do more to respond to the allegations made against Higgins in 1997? Higgins convictions relate to crimes against 24 children. The Barnardo's report tell us they were left vulnerable to ongoing abuse by Higgins which impacted upon their lives as children and the adults they became. Those abused were offered no support and were "left to make sense for themselves of all that happened" A shameful example of how a failure to act against a sexual abuser can have devestating consequences.

I too grew up in a working class family. I was one of 6 & we often struggled to have enough food go around. My parents never saw it as the schools job to give me breakfast tho. These days, there are food banks & charities popping up left right & centre and a welfare system bigger than grannies bloomers… If parents genuinely aren’t feeding their kids breakfast, they should be looked into. But no, instead it’s yet another parental responsibility that will be handed over to the state as we high-five ourselves and pretend it’s “free”. Sometimes I despair. And no, before some of you ask; I don’t think kids should starve… I simply think parents should be responsible for their own children. Old fashioned, I know 🤯
