UCU to Lead on Organizing 2026 Martyrs' Day Celebration Uganda Christian University (UCU) has been selected to lead the 2026 Martyrs Day celebrations, a major event on the Church of Uganda calendar.  This announcement was made by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, @Archbp_COU during the 140th Martyrs Day celebration held at the Anglican Martyrs Shrine in Namugongo, today, June 3, 2025. “Our provincial University, Uganda Christian University, will lead the 2026 Martyrs Day Celebration. We look forward to a wonderful time with them, support and encourage them”, said Archbishop Kaziimba. The UCU delegation to Namugongo was led by the Vice Chancellor, Canon Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi, and the sermon of the day was delivered by the former Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Rt. Rev. Dr. Henry Luke Orombi, who urged Christians to remain steadfast in faith, drawing inspiration from the sacrifice of the Martyrs. “They knew the pain but they also knew the Glory yet to come,  and I believe that they were received in Glory.” We thank God for this opportunity and are eager to serve his people with 'UCU excellence' come 2026. #ToGodBeTheGlory

@SpireJim Like why couldn't he just give bible examples like Ahab, Jezebel, Judas, etc. Why stretch for Ndawula? 🤷🏾‍♀️there are better examples than Ndawula

#WTC 🧵 1/3 Yesterday I had a lovely walk around Jinja town with Hannah Nanto Kintu. Hannah is a childhood friend. We grew up going to the same church and at some stage, the same schools. We definitely had a lot to catch up on.

@muhnteymitch @AfricanArchives It is through the pain that the kings and queens are celebrated today. Embrace the pain, learn from it, and use it to make things better. No pain no gain

@AfricanArchives My thing is this. If we supposed to be “celebrating” black history month… why tf do we need to keep revisit stories of trauma and pain?? no disrespect to the ones that had to endure that. But there’s stories of black kings and queens. success stories and we don’t celebrate that.

@BMKGiftSnr1 @DailyMonitor The mother also let her child get exposed to sex. Her body has lost its innocence. There's always a difference between an innocent body and that already touched and spoiled especially before it's time

@DailyMonitor Just 14 but there are videos of her in a club. She's also a danger to herself. I think everyone in that scandal ought to be arrested and charged accordingly. We could include get parents too! I mean given the lifestyle she flaunts on tiktok, they don't seem to be doing much.

@maggienakinti @CanaryMugume @cafejavas_ug That's why I said it's a hygiene issue. It's possible CJ could have be in wrong but the reverse is also true. Either way someone will have to pay huge my only worry is that the lady in all this is still the victim either by her own hygiene or CJ's hygiene. So lawyers very tricky

Some one guessed that Major General Paul Lokech died of a blood clot immediately after his death and indeed the autopsy has revealed the same.
