Agni Aaradhna for Mental Health Many people think lighting a lamp is a duty of a woman in family. In fact it is a duty of Yajmaani ( Head of Family ) , the man of the family. A man should be performing puja and lighting the main lamp of the home.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐘𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐮𝐣𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭 Ancient Indian mariners worshipped a Yemeni island and brought it back home as a deity. The island of Socotra, near East Africa, is believed to have manifested as Sikotar Mata, a sea goddess worshipped in Gujarat even today. On this day, one of the greatest Vaishnava philosophers, Ramanuja descended on earth. Imagine being so based that you influence & effectively Vishnupilled the Jain Hoysala king Bitti Deva, who later came to be known as Vishnuvardhana & turning him into a major patron of Vaishnavism, then with his support, contributing to the institutionalization of Vaishnavism in South India.

Śītalāṣṭamī falls on Caitra Kṛṣṇa Aṣṭamī, eight days after Holikā Dāha, typically in March or April. The observance is concentrated in North India and is dedicated to Śītalā Devī, the presiding deity of pustular diseases, principally smallpox. The Skanda Purāṇa contains the primary narrative. Śītalā emerges from a yajña and receives Brahmā's directive: humanity will worship her so long as she bears the seeds of urad (māṣa). Her companion is Jvarāsura, the fever-demon born from Śiva's perspiration. As they travel among the Devas, her lentil-seeds transform into pestilence. Every court they visit is struck with fever and pox. The Devas petition her for relief and ask her to descend to Bhūloka with her burden. Her first stop on the Earth is the court of Rājā Virāṭa, a Śiva-bhakta. He agrees to install her worship in his kingdom but will not grant her precedence over Śiva. She responds with a threat. He holds firm. She releases seventy-five varieties of pox upon his subjects. The epidemic devastates the population. Virāṭa finally yields, and Śītalā heals both king and kingdom. The iconographic scheme is consistent. Śītalā is caturbhujā, seated on a donkey. She holds a silver broom, a fan, a small vessel, and a water-pot. The broom sweeps the pestilence, the fan gathers it, the vessel collects it, and the water-pot, containing Gaṅgā-jala, purifies the space. The name Śītalā itself means "the cooling one." The theological function maps onto a practical seasonal injunction: the transition into the hot months demands heightened attention to hygiene, and the worship provides precisely that impetus. The distinctive ritual feature of the day is Basauḍā. No fire is lit on Aṣṭamī itself. All food is cooked the previous day, left to cool overnight, and offered cold. The kitchen activity on Saptamī is therefore intense. On the morning of Aṣṭamī, the women of the household select a stone to represent Śītalā Devī and install it on a red cloth. The pūjā proceeds with dīpa, dhūpa, puṣpa, kuṅkuma, jala, dadhi, godhūma, and mehndī. The exact sāmagrī varies by region and by the bhakta's capacity and sentiment. The prepared food is offered first to the Devī and then distributed through the day as her prasāda.

Sanskrit has >2000 verb roots (dhātus). But do you really need to learn them all? I had Claude analyze 270 Sanskrit texts, and it found that with just the 192 most common dhātus, you can understand ~90% of verbs in literature. Below are those 192 dhātus, ordered by frequency:

Navratri is the one time where almost any good wish can be fulfilled no matter how deeply stuck in mud the wheels of the matter might be. Of course little bit of knowledge as to why a matter is stuck (ethereal wise) is very useful: matlab kis cheez ney roka hua hain.. if you know what has obstructed it (and it’s Tod) then matter moves ahead at great speed. cc: @25_shivansh , @MrVishalMore , @SanjayNavgale

Absolutely blockbuster talk this one. Indian Knowledge Traditions. Past, Present and Future - by Prof. M.D. Srinivas (Padma Shri Awardee). Crisp 1hr talk. But covers some of the most important items for our times today. I like the emphasis on the need to know our own civilizational heritage. Like he says, our competition isn't necessarily with this country or that country. It is about whether we can live upto our own civilizational potential. Request everyone to spare time to watch this. Takes 30mins in 2x. Keep your electoral affiliations aside for a moment. This is not about politics. It is about our own civilizational heritage. Who we are/were and what do we do about it next. youtu.be/qo1YDI8MOrk/

Evidence of Radha ji in hindu texts:: As many people claim that there is no mention of Radha Rani in Hindu texts and Radha Rani is a mythical character. They never gone through various texts which mentioned her existence. I'm sharing some evidence from different texts here

Safari Magazine has decided to end his issues but not "the safari"; "Nagendra Vijay" this name will be very much remebered, specially by likes of Hindu Media Wiki work who are hugely inspired such information journalism and scientific reporting abilities. Take a bow Sir!
Thummar Ankit 🇮🇳@mathrunner7

I always had habit of reading Safari since my childhood, and collected 200+ editions. Last year I donated those booklets to a nearby library and last month only my annual subscription came to an end. This month I was supposed to renew it, but sadly no more SAFARI I’ll be able to see. An era came to end. 💔

While the usage of Shiva Tandav stotra & doha from Ramcharitmanas were explocit references to Hindu sources. There was also an implicit reference when it was said 'Paap ka Ghada bhar chukar hai'. It was a reference to Shishupala Vadha from Mahabharata which is a deeply ingrained idea among large section of Hindu society.
